What a busy few days trying to keep the power on. Client rings and explains western power are turning power off due to consumer pole on a slight lean noticed by public walking on street. Wp proped it up over night but when back the next day and isolated the power to 2 properties. Fair enough as it’s a matter of isolation of responsabilty. However a property manager got a pole defect notice issued last year according to WP and discussion between owners never reached a treaty. As the pole is on one persons land and therefore the owner of the pole. Neighbour was cherry picking from old system but a treaty has been reach and power back on.

Ok update on the new smart meters. Client says the tenants don’t have power. Ok investigate yes that’s correct but the electrical installation shows all good condition no blown fuses. Talk to western power fault crew and sure enough the system can remotely shut your power off from account issues. That makes you hop in the system to sort issue out then they will reactivate your meter remotely on the intra web. Look closely on display and you see the switch symbol is open. Symbol correlates to remotely disconnected.

Well this Short term stay of a 4 unit accomodation will have a fresh breath of air. 8 wall splits have not been serviced since installed . 9 yrs of operation and the mould collection was intense. Mainly due to the access the mould had a chance to take hold. So the current tenants will breathe happier. Mould particles on ceiling photo are from the cleaning process

Whilst the new smart meters being installed the Western power crew had a not so pleasant surprise that the pole would fall over via a sneeze. Yes justified but the owner has only just bought the property 2 weeks ago. Who pays??? . Settlement agents have discussed with lawyers and original owners are liable. Power back on by 3pm everyone happy.
