A 29.4% reduction in root zone encroachment through careful planning and design.

This recent commercial development project involved reviewing proposed electrical infrastructure works and assessing their potential impact on a retained tree.

📐 The revised design achieved:

✅ A 5.69 m² reduction (29.4%) in proposed root zone encroachment.

✅ A revised encroachment of 13.66 m², representing 17.1% of the Notional Root Zone (NRZ).

✅ A MODERATE encroachment classification under AS 4970:2025, provided all works remain outside the Structural Root Zone (SRZ).

✅ Recommendations for trenchless installation methods to further minimise root disturbance during construction.

While the revised design represents a significant improvement, appropriate tree protection measures and arboricultural oversight remain essential.

🌳 Cypress Tree Removal – Glen Waverley 🚧
Another challenging removal completed in Glen Waverley!

This large Cypress tree was blocking essential access for South East Water to carry out urgent repairs to the underground sewage system. Together looked at many ways to access the pipe with regards to retaining the tree, but the result remained the same - with the amount of digging and root pruning, the tree would become destabilized in the ground. This was a risk we just couldn't allow with multiple dwellings within the large trees strike zone.

Our team safely removed the tree and cleared the area, allowing the repair works to proceed without delay. 🌳✅

Two Magnolia grandiflora canopy trees were selected to replace the Cypress tree at the request of the City of Monash Council.

🌳 Pests & Diseases – When Should You Call an Arborist?

ArborSolve recently completed a significant arboricultural works package at the Toyota Australia facility in Altona, supporting major site upgrades including expanded infrastructure and renewable-energy roofed car parking.

The project involved the selective removal of 51 trees within the future development footprint, predominantly small to medium-sized specimens. The tree featured in this video was the largest removed and is not representative of the overall size of trees across the project.

Importantly, more than 200 advanced juvenile native and indigenous trees were established in areas less likely to be affected by future development.

Good arboricultural planning is not simply about replacing trees one-for-one. It is about selecting appropriate species, considering mature size and canopy spread, and positioning trees where they have the best opportunity to establish, remain and contribute to the landscape for decades.

Why Regular Tree Pruning Matters 🌿
