Eco Blade Vegetation Management
Our cutting-edge Eco Blade machine excels in w**d and vegetation management, particularly targeting gorse and blackberry. Unlike conventional methods, we employ a unique "cut and paste" method, drastically reducing the need for harmful chemicals while ensuring a high kill rate.

This is the most common reason landowners find themselves retreating the same ground year after year. The visible plant is only part of what you are dealing with. Below ground, an extensive root system drives regrowth, and in the soil around it, a seed bank that rebuilds the infestation long after the original plant is gone.

The Eco Blade changes that equation. Herbicide applied to the cut stump is drawn into the root before the plant can respond. Treated plants no longer produce new seed, which means the seed bank depletes over time rather than continuing to build. For established infestations across the Macedon Ranges, Mitchell Shire, and Central Victoria, this distinction is what determines whether treatment produces a lasting result.

Established infestations along fence lines, creek banks, and roadsides don't just affect individual properties; they spread into neighbouring land and public corridors. For land managers and councils working across Mitchell Shire, this is a shire-wide issue, not a property-by-property one.

Mountain View Contracting uses the Eco Blade across Mitchell Shire. The same method applied in contracts with Forest Fire Management Victoria, cutting, mulching, and treating gorse and blackberry at the root in a single pass. If you are managing land in the shire and need a result that holds, get in touch.

A recent project in Carlsruhe, a large property with significant gorse coverage.

Starting a job like this in winter is a smart decision. Fire restrictions will limit what can be done on properties across the Macedon Ranges once restrictions begin, and vegetation that is left to grow through spring adds to the fuel load that needs to be managed later.

Getting machinery on site now means the bulk of the treatment is complete before either of those factors comes into play.

The Eco Blade cuts, mulches, and applies herbicide to the cut stump in a single pass. On a property this size, that efficiency matters — and because the root system is treated directly, the result holds rather than requiring the same ground to be covered again next season.

Fuel reduction work on rural properties does more than reduce fire risk in isolation. Cleared fence lines and access tracks give emergency services a route onto a property when conditions deteriorate rapidly. Lower fuel loads on paddock edges and scrub corridors slow the rate at which fire can travel across a block, which directly affects the options available to protect structures and livestock. The difference between a property that has been systematically managed and one that hasn't is measurable in the time available to respond.

Mulching is one of the most effective clearing methods for this purpose because it processes dense vegetation on site rather than leaving dry slash, which is itself a fire hazard. The mulched material breaks down into the soil over time, which also benefits pasture and ground cover recovery after the season. For landowners across the Macedon Ranges, Hepburn Shire, Mount Alexander Shire, and surrounding regions, the upcoming season is a strong reason to treat clearing work as a priority rather than a deferred task.
