While restrictions may have started to ease, the economic challenge from the pandemic and the restrictions we needed to put in place remains.

That includes our construction industry, where the pipeline of new projects has slowed dramatically, putting local jobs at risk in the coming months.

If we take action, we can help to mitigate or avoid the potential damage.

But we need your help.

If you have been thinking about building - now is the time to get it underway and support local jobs.

To help get new homes under construction, we're introducing $20,000 Building Bonus grants for any Western Australia to build a new house or purchase a property in a single-tier development already under construction.

The grants will be available until the end of the year, and will not be means tested and have no cap on property value.

They will be on top of the Federal Government's HomeBuilder Grants, as well as WA’s First Home Owner Grants and first home buyer duty concession, meaning someone who qualifies for all four could access up to $69,440 in Government assistance to help build their first home.

Simply put, these grants are about getting as many new projects off the ground as possible, and keeping as many WA jobs intact as we can.

We're also making some changes to the 75% stamp duty rebate we introduced for new multi-tier developments last year.

The rebate, which is capped at $25,000, will now also apply to purchases in multi-tiered developments already under construction, in addition to pre-construction contracts.

It’s official! $25,000 grant.
Basically:
Owner occupiers only - No investors.
Singles earning under $125k.
Couples earning under $200k.
Must sign between now and 31 Dec 2020.
Must be contracted to a registered builder - no owner builders.
Renovations over $150k with minimum personal spend of $150k ie $160k Reno will only get you $10k, $175k Reno will get you $25k.
First home owners grant of $10k on top of the $25k for first home owners.

Scott Morrison will fire the starter’s gun on a renovation rescue for the economy with $25,000 cash grants for new homes and renos from midnight tonight.

The second wave of announcements over the construction grant have been aired today. The details are not locked in but everyone who builds will receive cash from the government.
Get your designs finalised and be ready to pounce.

The government will this week unveil generous grants for new homebuyers, which will reportedly be on offer for everybody – not just first-timers.

This handy tool may just be the difference between a smooth building experience or a nightmare!

This is a Penetrometer.

It's dropped from a constant height onto the test soil so that the depth of the resulting hole can be measured.

The measurements indicate whether the soil is strong (compacted) enough to build your house.

If the soil passes the tests a compaction test certificate is issued so that building can commence.

Best Practice is to employ the services of an engineer.

Toby from Structerre will come to your site and independently let you know if your earthworks are up to scratch.

Wow... what a week its been!!

Last Saturday we were fortunate enough to come home with the prestigious Brian Neil award again. This is 4 years in a row and the 5th time in 7 years!!

What does it mean to be awarded the Brian Neil award?

Among the MBA nominations, builders are judged and given an average score for the work done. Presented annually, this sought after award is a tribute to a man of true dedication to his industry. The builder with the highest overall average score is judged the ‘Best Builder’ and Awarded the Brian Neil award.

During the course of his life over 65 years, Brian Neil was a highly respected mentor to many members of the building and construction industry.

Brian made an extraordinary contribution to the Building Industry and to the Geraldton branch from 1964 - 2000. To honour his pursuit of excellence and ethos of quality building, the Brian Neil award was founded in 2000 and recognises various skills across 10 categories.
