Today is International Womenâs Day â a day to recognise the strength, resilience and achievements of women everywhere, while also acknowledging the work that still needs to be done.
This yearâs conversations focus on powerful themes like âBalance the Scalesâ â pushing for fairness, justice and true equality â and âGive to Gainâ, which reminds us how powerful collaboration, support and mentorship between women can be.
The United Nations theme, âRights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls,â calls for a world where every woman and girl has the same opportunities, safety and respect.
As a woman working in the trades, I know firsthand that this industry hasnât always felt like an easy place for women to step into. But things are changing â and they will keep changing because women are showing up, backing each other, and refusing to believe the old narrative about what we âshouldâ or âshouldnâtâ do.
Thatâs a big part of why Jaime and I started this journey â to help create a space where women feel confident picking up tools, learning new skills, asking questions and knowing they belong in this industry just as much as anyone else.
Through workshops, mentoring and simply supporting one another, we hope to help more women realise that the trades arenât off limits â theyâre full of opportunity.
Because when women support women, share knowledge and open doors for each other, we donât just build projectsâŚ
we build confidence, independence and stronger communities.
The future of trades shouldnât just include women â it should be built with them. And weâre here to help make that happen.
Happy International Womenâs Day â¤ď¸
