Wet and wild one today! 🌧️🌳

Still managed to keep our booking with the customer and get the job done despite the weather. Definitely got a bit wet, but that’s part of the job sometimes!

🚧 SITE CLEARING UNDERWAY! 🌳
Clearing the block ready for a new unit development.
We’ve left the stumps at around 1 metre high, allowing the excavator to pull them out during the earthworks — saving our customer the cost of separate stump grinding. 💰

Smart planning, less double handling and a more cost-effective solution for the job.

🌳☀️ More sunlight. More green grass. But don’t overdo the pruning!

A little selective canopy thinning can make a big difference, allowing more sunlight to reach fresh grass and encouraging healthy, green growth.

The key is balance. Removing too much canopy can put unnecessary stress on the tree, so we selectively thin the crown to improve light pe*******on while maintaining the tree’s health, structure and natural form.

🌱 Want to get more sunlight onto your lawn without over-pruning your trees?

A large Sugar Gum was removed due to significant internal decay associated with bracket fungi.

A sounding hammer was used during the assessment to help determine the extent of internal hollowness and structural deterioration.

Given the surrounding targets and the potential consequences should the tree fail, removal was considered necessary to mitigate the risk.

On the plus side, there’s now plenty of firewood for our customer! 🌳🔥

A dense row of Boxthorn along both sides of the boundary fence removed in Bannockburn.

The species can form dense, impenetrable
thickets reaching approximately 5 metres in height, with stout, sharp thorns capable of reaching up to 16 cm in length.

Following cutting, an appropriate herbicide treatment was applied directly to the freshly cut stems to assist with preventing regrowth and improving the effectiveness of the Boxthorn control works.

Unfortunately, this beautiful Jacaranda tree has to be removed to make way for additional car parking required for the new units.

A shame to see such a lovely tree go, but sometimes site requirements leave little choice.
