Here’s a recent project we just finished.
the first thing we do when it comes to replacing a lawn is to find out why the old one failed in the first place. It would be easy to just pull up the lawn and lay new one as is & it would look good for a month or so...
However, that doesn't address the reason for failing & it would fail again.
On assessment we found that the lawn had issues due to hydrophobic soil, compaction and an outdated irrigation system that put out too much water too quickly and would just run off the surface. With all these issues now sorted this will be and maintain being a fantastic first impression to a lovely home.

The feedback received from the golfers and spectators this year has been incredible.
The golfers that get to play around the world always love coming back to play in the Victorian Open at 13th beach.

It’s always great going back to the place where my Sports Turf Management career began 14 years ago.
Superintendent Steve Hewitt, along with the leadership group and team have done an amazing job.

I don’t miss the 3:30am alarms though!

Back to our regular clients this week bringing the same practices, insight, products and passion to your property as used in the Vic Open.

We are proud to be part of the Victorian Open greenskeeping team again, working along side the very talented staff.
13th beach Golf Links is where I began my Turf management journey.
Studied while working there and received my qualifications in Sports Turf Management.

Three players from the PGA Tour of Australasia will earn a priceless invitation to play at the Old Course at St Andrews in the 150th Open Championship.

With yesterdays heat and humidity we were very happy about turfing less than 100m from the ocean. Wind coming straight off the water 👌 Eureka Kikuyu with our establishment package.

10 minute old Santa Ana looking brilliant. Buffalo replaced with Santa Ana couch.
Buffalo in Geelong is fine for a show lawn but struggles to stand up to the high traffic demands of an active family with pets.
We also applied wetting agent, organic soil conditioner and a high quality starter fertiliser due to being on a sandy profile.

3 week old Tall fescue with our establishment package. 💪
13 years ago I started as a greenskeeper at 13th Beach Golf Links, studied while there and got my qualification in sports turf management.

I’ve picked up a few tricks over the last 13 years and your lawn gets to reap the benefit.

Looking forward to the turn around on this beautiful property.
Aggressive scarify in multiple directions going as deep as we can each pass with a clean up between each run.
Height reduction as some areas had close to 100mm of thatch between the soil and the canopy of the turf. Purposeful topdressing with double washed sand focusing on the sunken areas then a light covering of the rest.
And as always fed with Noculate XN for the fastest recovery.

Recent irrigation install in Ocean Grove. Automated Hunter controller system with wifi, MP rotator heads & ball valve. We install this valve before tap or the client will lose use of the tap. We then filled in the trenches & topped them up with washed sand.
While being a greenskeeper Golf Links I was also the Irrigation Technician.

2 years ago today and I still couldn’t be happier.
Anything will look good for a few months but 2 years later with Australian weather and about 120,000kms it still looks brand new.
Within 6 weeks the advertising paid for itself!

Can’t recommend Bevan Kay Designs and MCG Signs high enough 💪 Support local business especially in these times.

Maybe just needs a wash… 🤣

It’s good to get back into it.
Today’s job, Garden bed delete while removing some of the old lawn as well so we can fix levels when new turf goes in tomorrow.
Sir Walter Buffalo going in to match existing areas.
