Hmmm.... I've inherited these two delightfully maintained raised beds. One seems to have been an exercise in growing sweetcorn in straw (dead husks remain) and the other contains old soil and sticks. Not sure what was going on there. Question is, I need a cheap fix in order to grow some veggies etc for summer. Seems like a LOT of work to dig all the crap out and start again. Maybe just get a few gro-bags and plonk 'em on top! Think that might do it. Any suggestions???? πŸŒ±πŸ™

My little front yard patch is coming along a bit. Newly planted Windflower and Osteospermum help fill in the gaps. Such shallow soil though. I did try to rip a hole in the tarp the soil is sitting on, only to find a second layer! And still the weeds come through! The side patch (pic 3) is a bit more problematic as it is shady, but still has the two layers of tarp and a multitude of ever-growing weeds. Nasturtiums are doing well here, and hopefully a newly planted Osteospermum - different to the other one - will take off. It's all very hit and miss!!! πŸ˜±πŸ™

Monet's garden at Giverney (not my pic, unfortunately!) How beautiful is this? I love waterlilies; they have a spiritual meaning for me. How about you? Any flora that you hold dear at all? 🌺🌸🏡

Wouldn't it be great if we, Downunda, could do something like this? Gotta save the bees. 🐝

If you were a bee, wouldn't you be attracted to these? Incredible colours, shapes and smells would guide you in and give you food and a soft place to land. In return, you'd buzz off and leave a little of their pollen on your next rest stop. Then, back to the hive to fatten up the bee-lings. All in a day's work. 🐝
