From heritage to hospitality.
The Fire Station Hotel in Wallsend is a local landmark with a history dating back to 1875, when it first opened as the Great Northern Hotel, long before the fire station that later inspired its name.
At Warrane, our approach to this project was about respecting the legacy of the building while evolving it for contemporary hospitality. Through careful design, construction, and fit-out, the revitalised spaces support the way modern venues operate, creating welcoming environments for dining, social gatherings, and community connection.
Projects like this demonstrate how thoughtful intervention can preserve character while unlocking new life for historic venues.
