🌿 BACKYARD TRANSFORMATION ON A BUDGET 🌿

A huge difference in this outdoor space!

This one was for a tenant who wanted to improve the backyard without spending a fortune, so we worked with the budget available and focused on getting the biggest improvement possible.

Rather than doing a full excavation and complete levelling of the area, we worked with the existing ground as much as possible and gave the space a fresh, practical makeover with:

✅ New artificial turf
✅ Defined garden edging
✅ Fresh red mulch
✅ Tidier, lower-maintenance outdoor area
✅ A much brighter and more usable backyard

There are still some natural variations in the ground because a full levelling job wasn’t within the budget, but the client was more than happy with the finished result — and that’s what matters.

Not every outdoor makeover needs to cost thousands and thousands. We’re always happy to work with your budget, talk through the options and find a solution that makes sense for your property.

Client gave us a rough plan — and we delivered! 🙌

This was a fun one to bring to life, transforming a previously unused side yard into a much cleaner, more practical space with new garden beds, stepping pavers and a defined pathway.

The client came to us with their own rough design and ideas, and we were able to turn that vision into the finished result.

It was especially great to receive such positive feedback afterwards — hearing that the client was happy with the workmanship, attention to detail and overall finish makes jobs like this even more rewarding. 😊

After a few very quiet weeks — and a few moments wondering whether opening a business was the best decision 😅 — we’re back at it and as busy as ever!

This recently completed job was a great one for us because it involved a variety of different tasks and gave us the chance to do what we enjoy most — taking on a property that needs a bit of everything and getting stuck into it.

Works completed included:

Full gutter clean and removing built up debris from the roof
Tree reduction & pruning
Removal and replacement of multiple damaged roof sheets
Installation of new support beams where required
Construction of a custom door frame and installation of a new door
Repair of an existing door after the glass was smashed out by the wind — filling the openings with solid timber, sanding everything back and repainting for a neat finish

A lot of different skills went into this one, and the before and after photos speak for themselves.

It’s been a good reminder that business can have its quiet patches, but you’ve just got to keep pushing through them.👌

🔥 What a transformation!

We recently completed this custom Merbau deck, transforming an unused garden area into a functional outdoor space that ties in beautifully with the existing pool area.

The job involved building a new subframe from the ground up, working around the existing building and curved retaining wall, then finishing everything with 90mm Merbau decking.

A fair bit of measuring, cutting and problem-solving went into this one — but we’re very happy with how it came together!

🚨 After-Hours Emergency Call-Out 🚨

Attended an after-hours call-out this evening to a malfunctioning automatic door at a disability support residence.

The door operator had developed a fault, causing the door to randomly open and close, creating a potential safety and security risk for both residents and staff.

Our works included:

✔️ Isolating mains power

✔️ Disconnecting the backup battery and automation system

✔️ Returning the door to manual operation

✔️ Testing the door to ensure safe operation

The site was left secure and fully functional in manual mode pending repairs by the door technician.👌

💧 Another problem solved!

One thing we pride ourselves on at Beard & Bone Maintenance is our ability to tackle a wide variety of maintenance jobs.

While carrying out a routine gutter clean today, we discovered the evaporative cooler's inlet hose had burst and had been leaking heavily for who knows how long... imagine the water bill! 😬

After investigating further, we also found the water inlet solenoid had failed, meaning the cooler wasn't operating as efficiently as it should.

Fortunately, our local HVAC supplier was just down the road, so we were able to source the parts, complete the repair, and have the system back up and running in no time. ✅

It's a great reminder that sometimes a routine maintenance visit can uncover hidden issues before they become much bigger (and more expensive) problems.
