Some trees simply can’t be dismantled safely from the ground. When a tree is large, compromised, leaning, surrounded by buildings, roads, rail infrastructure, powerlines or other hazards, arborists may need to bring in a crane to safely control and lift sections of the tree.

🚧 But using a crane isn’t just about having the right equipment. It requires careful planning, qualified operators, experienced arborists and a detailed understanding of loads, lifting points, rigging, exclusion zones and ground conditions.

Before the first cut is made, the team needs to assess the tree, identify hazards, determine how each section will be safely removed, establish where the crane can operate, and coordinate communication between everyone on site.
