The day began with Tribute by Tenacious D, then after lunch Bon Jovi, Livin’ on a Prayer.

Rockin it out shearing xbred lambs and crutching ewes.

Rhys and Blake shore the ewes and cleaned up the lambs on the trailer. Luckily it was a lovely sunny day with a slight breeze.

Team work!!! 2026 shearing of McFarlane’s Farm rams is complete. These boys are big boys but they are gentle giants. It’s the first time they’ve been on the trailer and they walked up beautifully. The only mission was getting them out of the race. 😉😉

We are a family run business in Mount Barker WA, with the contractor as part of the team. We work from Albany to Williams, Gnowangerup to Manjimup and everywhere in between but happy to go further and camp out if need be.

Do you have sheep? Would you like them to be crutched or shorn? Then our shearing team is for you. We are looking for new clientele to join our run. No job is too big or too small. We can offer up to a 6 stand no problems.

Our team work to a very high quality. They are clean, they take pride in their work, with two of our members on the national team for clean shears. Our team actually gets along and just enjoys being at work.

We can shear or crutch in your shed or on our 4 stand shearing trailer out in the paddock.

2026/27 season has started. Bit of crutching, bit of shearing and just a bit of fun.

Love having these guys and gals back together in the shed. Fun times ahead.

Crutching and shearing jobs are getting booked in for the season ahead.

If you would like a good, clean, respectable team working for you and working with your livestock, then our team is for you. If you don’t have a shearing shed, but have some yards, we can bring our trailer to do crutching and shearing.

Momentum is building, we can almost smell those sheds coming back to life, after sitting dormant for so long.

Exciting times ahead.

Saturday night was the inaugural WACSA awards night and the naming of the national team who will be going to Warrnambool in October for the Clean Shears Competition.

We are so very pleased and so very proud of Blake who came 2nd in the Seniors Clean Shears and has been named as one of two Senior Shearers going to Nationals and Steven who came 2nd in the Novice shearing and has been named as one of the two Novice Shearers going to Nationals.

“Keep it clean, be efficient and respectful” is something we ask of all our team, something these two will be taking over to Victoria with them.

Well done fellas so proud of you.
