When we’re tiling a bathroom, we’re looking at the whole picture. The niche areas, the grout lines, the levels, the cuts and how every tile meets the next.
A detail that’s really important to us is continuing the tile lines through the niche, rather than simply cutting and placing a full tile inside it. It might seem extreme to some, but we spent hours with our tiler working through the layout, starting and stopping grout lines in the right places to make sure everything lines up.
With slender tiles, that level of precision becomes even more important. They’re harder to cut, harder to position and there’s less room for error. Every cut needs to be accurate to avoid cracking and to achieve those clean, consistent lines.
Mitred edges, perfectly level courses and flush grout lines all make a difference to the final result.
You might not notice every individual decision when you walk into the finished bathroom, but you definitely notice when the detail isn’t right.
For us, that’s the difference between simply having tiles on a wall and having a properly considered, highly detailed finish.
