Spanning 20 metres over an operational rail corridor.

One super track possession. Four days, 2nd to 5th of May.

Watch the team in this clip and you'll see exactly why we hit it. Every person knowing their role. Every component moving in sequence. No wasted steps, no confusion, just a crew that trusted each other and got it done.

Miss that synchronisation and you miss the window.

Our crew didn't miss it. 👊

Still not ready to show you the full picture... but we're getting close.

52 construction sites. One week. Both sides of the border.

SafeWork NSW and WorkSafe Victoria ran a joint blitz across Albury and Wodonga last month. Inspectors weren't looking for obscure compliance issues. They found missing SWMS. No fall controls. Basic site security failures.

Falls from height are still the number one cause of death on NSW construction sites. Most happen at four metres or less, from the heights every site treats as manageable.

The businesses that were ready had their systems sorted before inspectors arrived. The ones that weren't are dealing with it now.

If you're running construction work in the region, both regulators are active here. Worth knowing.

Something's going up over the tracks in Wagga Wagga.

Can't tell you what it is yet.

But the crew's been out there making it happen.

The cheapest scaffolding quote doesn't remove risk from your project. It just moves it around.

The risk of a worker being injured is still there. Scaffold that isn't properly designed, documented or built doesn't get safer because it was cheaper.

The regulatory risk is still there. If WorkSafe arrives and the SWMS is missing or the fall protection isn't right, you're liable alongside your contractor, regardless of what the subcontract says.

The financial risk is still there. A stop-work order, a re-mobilisation or a prosecution lands on the project. Not on the quote comparison spreadsheet.

Engaging a scaffolding contractor doesn't transfer your duty of care. It never has.

The question worth asking before you sign is does engaging this contractor genuinely make your site safer and your legal position stronger? Or does it just feel like the risk has been dealt with because someone else is holding the scaffold licence?

Because those are two very different things.

Good feedback means more when it comes from people working alongside the crew on site.

Really proud of the way the team has approached this project so far. Tight possession windows, changing conditions and plenty of moving parts, but the crew has continued to show professionalism, adaptability and strong teamwork throughout.

Appreciate the recognition from the wider project team and the effort our crew continues to put in every day.

Today is International Scaffolding & Access Day and we're using it to say something simple.

This crew is exceptional.

Not because we're biased. Because we watch them solve problems daily that most people never see. Early mornings, long shutdowns, plans that change on site, and standards that don't.

Swipe through and meet the team behind the work. 🧡

To every scaffolder out there today this one's for you.

27 sites inspected.
57 improvement notices.
5 prohibition notices.

One month. One region.
Same issue every single time.

WorkSafe and SafeWork haven't been quiet about fall risks. Years of campaigns. Years of statistics. The awareness exists. ⚠️

What doesn't change is when access planning happens.

It still gets sorted on the day. Controls still get assumed. The scaffold still goes up before anyone's thought through the methodology.

A prohibition notice doesn't just pause the work. It stops the site. Trades stand idle. The program bleeds. The fine is the smallest cost.

The conversation needs to happen earlier. A lot earlier.

We are looking for our next great hire at First Scaff and this one is a big deal.

We are after an Operations Manager to help us run and grow the business. Someone who leads people well, keeps clients happy, builds better systems and wants to grow with us for the long term.

You see a broken process and fix it. You bring the same drive for improvement to the people around you because you know a better team means a better business. You are comfortable creating structure, not just following it.

The package is $120,000 to $140,000 total, with a vehicle and fuel card available as part of that package, super on top, and a bonus structure tied to what you help build. Based in Albury/Wodonga.

We do not just want someone who is good at the job. We want someone who is better for having been here and who makes the people around them better too.

Know someone who fits? Tag them below or share this post.

$900,000 in fines. One 12-month blitz. 1,218 sites.

SafeWork NSW's falls-from-heights campaign has made one thing very clear, this isn't a one-off crackdown.

Falls from heights is their number one regulatory priority for 2025–26, and the NSW WHS Regulation 2025 (in force since August) has added on-the-spot fines and new penalty offences to back it up.

Scaffolding above 4 metres without a High Risk Work Licence is now explicitly on the fine list.

The businesses caught out aren't always the ones who didn't care. They're the ones who left access decisions too late, where the programme is locked, the budget is set, and corners get cut.

The right scaffold, planned properly from the start, protects your workers and your business.
