A busy day at Deepcore Drilling headquarters today! 👏

We welcomed 9 new Driller’s Assistants through our Green Start training program, while 5 of our current Drillers completed their CN Non-Slewing Crane course.

For our new offsiders, training combines classroom learning with hands-on practice in the field. We cover tool handling techniques, nutrition, our policies and procedures, and what to expect when they head out to site.

Great to see our team learning new skills and supporting the next group getting started in the drilling industry!

A big two days of learning for our Deepcore team!

This week, 10 employees from our management and operations teams completed Mental Health First Aid training with Alicia from The Blue Shirt Project

The course covered recognising signs of mental health challenges, having supportive conversations and helping people access further support.

We now have 24 trained Mental Health First Aiders across our workforce, giving our people more co-workers they can turn to when they need support.

With October being Mental Health Month, it’s a timely reminder of the importance of looking out for each other. We’re proud to keep investing in our team’s skills and confidence to support their mates at work.

Yesterday, teams across all the Deepcore Drilling sites, paused their work to share a meal, have a chat and, most importantly, check in with the people around them.

R U OK? Day is an important reminder to check in with those around us and look to connect with our teams.

A big thank you to everyone across our sites who put the work on pause and made the time to come together. We’re proud to see our teams looking out for one another and creating a culture where connection and wellbeing matter.

This morning, members of the Deepcore Drilling team attended the Bendigo Senior Secondary College Industry Engagement Breakfast.

It was a great opportunity to connect with local students and to have conversations about the different career pathways available within the drilling and mining industry.

From entry-level opportunities and apprenticeships through to long-term careers, events like these are a great way to give people a better understanding of where a career in our industry can take them.

A big thank you to everyone involved in organising the morning and to those who stopped by for a chat with the Deepcore team!
