🚗 COOL HEADS – THIS WEDNESDAY NIGHT! 🚗

This Wednesday night, Jayde will be heading along to the Cool Heads Young Driver Program with the crew from Echuca Moama Search and Rescue, alongside Victoria Police, local agencies and other guest speakers.

Cool Heads is a free road safety event aimed at young drivers, as well as their parents, carers and anyone helping a young person build safe driving habits. It’s designed to be thought-provoking, informative and at times confronting, with real-life advice and experiences around road safety, decision-making and the importance of having the right attitude behind the wheel.

It’s such a valuable event for our local young people, especially those who are just starting out on the road or getting ready to get their licence.

🌿🦘 TODAY IS NATIONAL THREATENED SPECIES DAY 🐨🌿

Today, Monday 7 September, marks National Threatened Species Day here in Australia — a day to stop and think about our incredible native wildlife and the importance of protecting it for generations to come. 💚

The date has a pretty significant history too. It marks the anniversary of the death of the last known thylacine, or Tasmanian tiger, which died at Hobart Zoo in 1936.

Australia is home to some seriously unique plants and animals, many found nowhere else in the world, but more than 1,700 species and ecological communities are currently listed as threatened. Habitat loss, invasive species, altered fire regimes and climate change are among the major pressures they face.

It’s a good reminder that even the little things can make a difference — looking after native habitat, planting local species, keeping an eye out for wildlife and supporting the people and organisations working hard to protect our environment. 🌱🦜🐾

We’re pretty lucky to live in a country with such amazing wildlife. Let’s do our bit to make sure future generations get to enjoy it too. 💚

A big shout-out today to Reags, Les & Gaz — three absolute legends and hands down some of the best dads and poppys going around. 🙌

We’re pretty lucky to have you blokes in our corner. Whether it’s the laughs, the advice, the helping hands, the family memories or just always being there when it matters, you each bring something pretty special to our family. 💚

Father’s Day is a good little reminder to appreciate the dads, poppys, stepdads, father figures and all the good men who show up for their families day in, day out.

So here’s to Reags, Les & Gaz — we hope you’ve had a cracking day, been spoilt rotten, had a decent feed and maybe even managed to put your feet up for five minutes. 😂🍻

🌸☀️ FIRST WEEKEND OF SPRING! ☀️🌸

How good does that sound?! 🙌

We hope you’ve got something great planned for the weekend — whether it’s getting out and about, catching up with family and friends, firing up the BBQ or just enjoying a bit of sunshine. 😍

For us, this will be the first weekend since March that we don’t have anything planned… and to be honest, we’re not mad about it. 😂

No rushing off anywhere, no packed schedule, no sport to get to — just a chance to stay home and get stuck into a few jobs around the house that have been waiting patiently for their turn. 🏡🛠️

There’s something pretty good about a quiet weekend at home, especially with the spring weather starting to roll in. 🌿🌼

🍪💗 A LITTLE SHOUT-OUT TO .swiss.treats in Echuca! 💗🍪

We recently had some cookies made for Stella to take along to day care and share with all her little friends — and let me tell you… she absolutely nailed the brief! 🙌✨

The colours were spot on, the decorations were just perfect, and they looked almost too good to eat… almost. 😂🍪

And the best part? They tasted just as good as they looked. 😍

It’s always nice being able to support another local business, especially when they make the whole process easy and deliver exactly what you had in mind.

🎳🏆 WELL… THE BOYS TALKED A BIG GAME! 🏆🎳

We had to pop over to Ballarat on Friday arvo for an appointment, so we decided to stay the night and make a little family trip out of it. ❤️

And of course, that meant only one thing…

A bit of family rivalry. 😂🔥

We headed out for a game of 10-pin bowling, and before we’d even picked up a ball, Reags and Nug were already carrying on about how they were obviously going to be the best. 🙄😂

There was plenty of confidence…
Plenty of boasting…
And plenty of “just wait and see” chat from the boys. 🎳😎

Welllllll…

I’ll let the final scores do the talking. 😏🏆

Turns out the real bowling champion of the family was none other than Jayde. 😂🙌

Safe to say the boys were a little quieter by the end of the game. 🤭

Nothing like a friendly family competition to keep everyone humble!

Better luck next time, Reags and Nug… the trophy is staying with me for now. 🏆😂

🏉💚 WHAT. A. BLOODY. EFFORT. 💚🏉

That’s a wrap on finals footy for Nug and his bunch of little legends — and geez, what a ride! 🙌🔥

They finished 4th on the ladder, and to be fair, we weren’t expecting a massive finals run… but this team had plenty of determination, grit and heart. 💪

First up was the elimination final at Mooroopna against the other Echuca Bombers Under 14s side. It absolutely poured with rain 🌧️ but the boys dug in and came away with the win, 29 to 8. 👏

Next stop — the preliminary final in Tatura against the top-age Shepparton Swans.

And the boys bloody did it again. 😂🔥

They came out firing and took the win 62 to 16. Talk about the underdogs! 🤯🏉

A team that finished 4th had just played their way into a GRAND FINAL. 🏆

So off we went to Deakin Reserve in Shepparton to face the undefeated Shepparton Bears.

What a game it was. Our boys played their hearts out, ran hard, tackled hard and gave absolutely everything. 💚

It was so close, but in the final few minutes the Bears broke the lead and took out the GV Under 14s Grand Final.

Of course the boys were disappointed, but what an achievement. To finish 4th, fight through two finals, knock over some strong opposition and push an undefeated team right to the end in a grand final is something to be bloody proud of. 👏👏👏

Massive congratulations to the Shepparton Bears, and a huge well done to both teams.

To our Echuca boys — what a season, what a finals run and what a bunch of little legends. 🏉💚

And for Nug, what a ripper experience to be part of. We couldn’t be prouder. 🙌

🌸☀️ HELLO SPRING! ☀️🌸

1st of September and how good is this bloody weather?! 🙌

There’s just something about the first taste of spring that puts everyone in a better mood — the sun’s got a bit more warmth in it, the days are starting to stretch out, and those lighter evenings are finally making a comeback. 😍🌿

Nothing beats knocking off for the day and realising there’s still plenty of sunshine left! More time outside, more BBQs, more backyard hangs and that feeling that summer isn’t too far away. ☀️🍃🔥

After the cold mornings and dark winter evenings, we are VERY ready for this! 😂

🏉💚 That’s a wrap on footy season for Nug! 💚🏉

The season might be done and dusted, but not before presentation night — and we couldn’t be prouder to see Nug awarded Most Determined Player for the U14 Echuca Bombers! 🏆👏

This award feels pretty fitting. Nug has shown plenty of grit this season — turning up, having a crack, pushing through the tough games and never giving up on himself or his teammates. 💪

Footy isn’t always about the goals kicked or the wins on the board. It’s about effort, resilience, teamwork and sticking at it when things get hard — and that determination is something we’re bloody proud to see in him. 💚🤍

A huge thanks to the coaches, volunteers, families and everyone involved at Echuca Junior Football Club for another great season. It takes a lot of people behind the scenes to give these kids the opportunity to get out there and do what they love. 🙌

Well done, Nug — keep having a crack, mate! 🏆🏉💚
