You guessed it. Steel.

This is going to be a serious high end finish, with glorious natural light, easing its way into these living areas and hallways.
Complementing this alfresco and outside entertainment area perfectly.

We explain what those funny looking timbers, big sheets of ply board and steel straps are throughout the frame, pre truss install.

One of the most important stages of the job. Continuing on from the main foundation being the concrete slab. Our frame to be plumb and straight is just as important.

We pride ourselves on getting this stage absolutely perfect through triple checks and more. It’s an integral part of the job which will dictate our finishes to be bang on with many details at finishing stages.

We thought we’d take you through the frame stage of this new build and just pull out a few things that the average guy or girl wouldn’t see, once the job is all said and done.

From structural steel to, in this instance, a window sill that consists of 4x 90x63mm lvl plates to keep the sill, strong and solid. As opposed to a single 90x35 plate that wouldn’t hold up.

And above the window at the head. A nice and juicy piece of steel to hold the load above.
Bricks, wall frame, trusses and roof all above the window.

Progress Update

The slab is complete and we’re officially out of the ground.

Steel is now being erected, setting the stage for framing to kick off next week.

It’s always a good feeling watching a project start to take shape — plenty more to come from Biyala House.
