Cants Building & Construction is expanding, and we’re looking for an experienced Leading Hand Carpenter to join our team! This is a mid-level role perfect for someone confident in leading others, managing site tasks, and delivering high-quality carpentry work.
🔧 What You’ll Be Doing
• Managing carpentry works from start to finish
• Coordinating and supervising subcontractors where needed
• Supporting the Site Manager to keep projects on schedule
• Leading and guiding carpenters & apprentices
• Reading and following construction plans and documentation
• Ensuring all work aligns with Cants’ standards & WHS requirements
• Day-to-day carpentry and minor trade tasks
• Helping keep projects running smoothly, safely, and on budget
✔ What You’ll Need
• Certificate III in Carpentry
• WHS White Card
• Working at Heights
• Current driver’s licence
Essential Qualities
• Reliable, punctual and committed to high-quality work
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Able to work safely and follow procedures
• Organised and able to meet deadlines
• Able to communicate professionally with clients & stakeholders
• Team-focused mindset
• Acceptable Police History Report and Working With Children’s Check
