Fleck Group is looking for a reliable, motivated and hands-on Yardsman to join our growing team at our Box Hill yard.
We operate a large and diverse fleet of earthmoving machinery and equipment, and we're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has good attention to detail and can help keep our yard, machinery and day-to-day operations running smoothly.
This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety, working closely with our workshop, operations and allocations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Machinery Cleaning & Presentation: Washing, cleaning and preparing machinery to ensure it is presented to a high standard.
Pre-Hire & Off-Hire Inspections: Conducting machinery inspections, documenting condition and ensuring equipment is ready for its next hire.
Rego & Compliance: Coordinating vehicle registration inspections and assisting with fleet compliance requirements.
Yard Organisation: Maintaining a clean, safe and organised yard, ensuring machinery, attachments and equipment are stored correctly.
Mechanical Reporting: Identifying and reporting mechanical faults, damage or maintenance requirements to the workshop team.
Office Communication: Liaising with the office and allocations team regarding machinery movements, inspections and general operational requirements.
Parts Coordination: Assisting with sourcing, collecting and organising parts as required.
Site Deliveries: Occasionally delivering parts, equipment and other items to job sites.
General Yard Duties: Assisting with other day-to-day tasks to support the smooth operation of the business.
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements:
Current and valid driver's licence.
Valid White Card (Construction Induction Card).
Reliable, punctual and motivated.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A proactive attitude with a willingness to get involved wherever required.
Highly Regarded (But Not Essential):
Excavator, loader, forklift or other machinery tickets.
Previous experience working in an earthmoving, construction, plant hire or mechanical workshop environment.
Basic mechanical knowledge or an understanding of earthmoving equipment.
Experience conducting machinery pre-hire and off-hire inspections.
