🐗 NSW Pest Control Update: Feral Pigs Remain Front and Centre 🦊🐐

The latest headlines from across NSW show just how important coordinated vertebrate pest management continues to be for protecting agriculture, livestock and native ecosystems.

✅ NSW Government figures show almost 250,000 feral pigs have been controlled across the state over the past three years, with further reviews underway to identify even better tools and technologies for large-scale pest management. Recent aerial control operations near the Bogan River, west of Dubbo, removed more than 2,200 feral pigs in just five days.

✅ NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service reports that more than 19,000 feral animals have been removed this financial year across western NSW, including feral pigs, goats, deer, foxes and wild dogs.

✅ Farmers across Central West NSW are continuing to report significant damage from feral pigs following prolonged dry conditions, highlighting the need for ongoing trapping, baiting and coordinated control programs.

✅ The NSW Feral Pig and Pest Program has been extended through 2026, continuing to support landholders with coordinated control programs, training, free grain and 1080 baiting support in eligible areas.
