Another massive Nu-pod installation in the books! 🚀

🏗️ Another successful NuPod install — Condobolin! Lachlan Dunn

The Complete Reo team is proud to have completed another NuPod slab installation in Condobolin for Outback Builders.

We were lucky to have Justin Gatto on site from NuPod, who flew down from QLD to support us through this exciting transition to the latest plastic void former system. The crew from Scott Grogan Concreting are absolutely loving it — this was their 2nd NuPod install and they’re already all over the system.

And here’s the best part: it’s even easier than traditional waffle pods. This was no simple plan either — a P-class slab on an old knockdown, packed with N16 bars and TM163 trench mesh beams running right through the main slab. Even so, we had it in the ground in under 3 hours, ready for mesh — no waste, no leftover scraps, and a nice tidy site. Both Outback Builders supervisors were seriously impressed. 👏

For anyone new to it: NuPod is an Australian-made, 100% recycled plastic alternative to traditional polystyrene waffle pods — and it’s a faster, cleaner, simpler system to lay. Its patented interlocking spacers lock the slab together during the pour (no floating), guide your bars straight into place, and the stackable design means less mess, less handling and less waste on site — all while conforming to AS 2870. A smarter, greener slab with none of the polystyrene hassle. 🌱

A massive thanks to Justin for taking the time to support Complete Reo on the ground. We didn’t stop all day — skipped lunch and shot back to Parkes to catch another concreter before heading to Orange to meet with Wayne Roe from Cook & Roe, the structural engineers designing around 80% of the waffle pod slabs across the Central West. Wayne’s right behind the NuPod system, and Justin’s getting them set up with all the tools to complete the slab designs.

We’re planning to get a couple of these on the ground in Orange soon for a show-and-tell afternoon with concreters, builders and engineers — watch this space! 👀
