Mathews Residence Update | Speers Point

It's been exciting to watch this custom home take shape over the past few months.

From a challenging hillside block and extensive excavation works through to the completion of the slab, framing and roof structure, the project is progressing well and remains on track.

One of the highlights so far has been changing the proposed retaining wall system from traditional concrete blockwork to a Dincel wall system, providing a faster build time and improved waterproofing performance.

A huge effort from our Newcastle team, led by Ethan and Archie, with support from our Dubbo crew when required, has helped keep the project moving forward smoothly.

We're now installing:
🔨 External cladding
🔨 Roof plumbing
🔨 Architectural sunhoods
🔨 Hebel cladding systems

Next we'll be working towards lock-up, rough-in services and internal linings.

We'd like to thank our clients and project consultants for their ongoing collaboration throughout the build.

Ethan brings a wealth of experience and craftsmanship to the Omni team. As new Lead Carpenter of our Newcastle Branch, he will play a key role in maintaining the high quality of finish that our clients have come to expect. We're thrilled to have him on board.

We’re proud to have recently completed this fantastic upgrade for Charlestown Presbyterian Church.

The project included a brand-new commercial kitchen, modern amenities, and a welcoming entry space designed to better support the growing needs of the community.

A standout feature is the large raked ceiling community area, creating a bright and open environment. This space has been thoughtfully designed so it can be opened up to connect seamlessly with the existing church, allowing for larger gatherings and greater flexibility for events and services.

Externally, the works included new accessible ramps, a paved car parking area, and landscaping, improving both accessibility and the overall presentation of the site.

It’s been a pleasure working with such a great client to deliver a space that will serve the community for many years to come.

We’re excited to showcase the completed Mitsubishi & GWM Haval showroom extension delivered in Dubbo for @ and

Working alongside .i.m_architects, our team completed alterations and additions to the existing vehicle showroom, expanding the display area and creating a modern space designed to elevate the customer experience.

From demolition and structural works through to lighting, finishes and services, this project was delivered through strong collaboration between our team and the many skilled trades involved.

Great work to everyone who contributed to another successful OMNI project 👏

Last week we poured the slab on our newest project in Speers Point - a major milestone and the moment when plans officially start turning into structure.

A huge effort from the team and our trusted trades to get us to this stage. Careful set out, services in place, prep work done right…

We’re looking forward to sharing the progress as this one comes out of the ground.

Meet Trent 👋

Trent Rooney has been part of the OMNI Building Group team for over four years now, and he’s very much one of those people who just quietly gets things done - and gets them done well.

Based with our Dubbo crew, Trent is a Lead Carpenter who leads from the front on site. Day to day, he’s coordinating and carrying out carpentry works, mentoring apprentices, and helping keep projects running safely, smoothly, and to a consistently high standard. He works closely with the wider OMNI team to solve problems as they pop up, always with a calm, practical approach.

One of the things Trent is best known for on site is his attention to detail and steady, solutions-focused mindset. He doesn’t get rattled under pressure, sets a great example for the team around him, and takes real pride in delivering quality finishes that reflect OMNI’s values - and our clients’ expectations.

Why do we trust Trent? Simple. He takes ownership of his work, holds himself (and others) to a high standard, and genuinely cares about getting things right the first time. He communicates clearly, makes smart decisions on the ground, and keeps work moving safely and efficiently.

If we had to describe Trent in three words? Honest. Genuine. Versatile.

Off site, he’s a devoted dad to his two girls - and on site, he’s very much known as the quiet achiever. The kind of team member every builder wants on their projects.

We’re pretty lucky to have him. 👷‍♂️👏

The Charlestown project is moving into its final stages, and it’s exciting to see everything coming together. Each phase is refining the space and bringing the design intent to life, and we’re now well on track for the finish line. Looking forward to sharing the completed project soon!

We’re proud to share these kind words from Luke Wilson, Principal of St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, following the completion of their recent Library Extension project.

Luke also noted our team’s strong focus on safety - keeping the site tidy and following proper procedures throughout construction within the school grounds. We take great pride in maintaining safe, organised, and respectful work environments, particularly in live school settings where the wellbeing of staff and students is paramount.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to help St Mary’s create a more flexible, modern learning space for their students.
