Dandarrga Landcare had the pleasure of hosting a ‘Herbs for Healthy Living’ and ‘Foraging for Edible Herbal Weeds’ with Andrew Patterson & Judy Cooke on the 13th & 20th September.
Many thanks to Andrew & Judy for sharing their wealth of knowledge about the value of herbs for a healthier life & how to forage for beneficial weeds.

The sun came out this morning, briefly. It feels like Spring is in the air. Chris has a lot of vege seedlings on the go in the hot house, and has been working hard on the Seed Savers Gardens, making compost and in the Community Garden. The photos speak for themselves - the gardens are beautiful.

More work on the new vegetable beds this week. Jack Buchannan delivered his delectable soil mix on Friday, and a few hard-working volunteers weeded and woodchipped the paths and barrowed the soil. It is surprising how much can be done with just a few people on two mornings!
Next steps - planting the seedlings, mulching and watering.

.........Community Garden Working Bee .........
What a fabulous day we shared today in our warm, sunlit community garden with many hands making light work. A huge thank you to all volunteers who joined us as we worked together on the much-needed tasks such as weeding, digging, clearing ground, whipper snipping, moving timber and a shade house ………
All the activity created some hungry tummies which were rewarded with delicious soups, salads, breads, patties as well as sweet treats and a cuppa around our cozy firepit.
More space has been created following the day’s activities, for a few more garden beds to be created, meaning more healthy food to grow and share.
Do come visit us any Mon, Wed, Frid or Sat, 9am to 12:30pm.
