Funny how a few memes can change things.
Strange times we live in.

Just weeks ago, Australians were being told major tax changes were necessary and concerns from small business owners, accountants, investors and startup founders were largely brushed aside.
Then came the backlash.
Then came the social media storm.
Then came the endless Albo memes.
And suddenly the Government announced it had "listened".

The original proposal would have significantly reduced access to existing capital gains tax concessions for many business owners and investors, with concerns raised across the small business community about the impact on investment, succession planning and the sale of family businesses.

Now the Government has reversed course, announcing that small businesses with turnover of up to $10 million will continue to have access to the 50% CGT discount, meaning around 2.7 million Australian small businesses remain eligible for concessions that many thought were about to disappear.
Apparently thousands of business owners, accountants and industry groups couldn't change the Government's mind.
But a few weeks of relentless online ridicule seems to have done the trick.
Whether you support Labor or not, it's hard not to notice a familiar pattern:

Announce controversial policy.

Tell everyone it's a good idea.

Receive overwhelming backlash.

Become the subject of memes.

"We've listened."

Reverse position.

Pretend to be the hero, to the problem they created.

As the thought bubble says:
"I've changed positions... again."

Politics in 2026: where public policy is debated by economists during the day and decided by Facebook memes at night.

Farewell Albo 👋

Not only is Anthony Albanese leaving… he failed to even show up.

To be fair, we very much doubt he even knows where Dongara is.

Our feeds, ads, TV, radio and timelines have been absolutely flooded by the Alborithm lately — enough is enough. These idiots don't deserve the airtime, don't forget about it, just maybe get your information from a more credible source 😅

While Canberra argues about “the regions”, we’ve been out here dealing with power outages, rising costs, and trying to keep small business alive with little more than lekkie tape, generators, stubbornness, and wholesalers statements that need paying for motivation! Conduits doubled in price, coppers not far from it, we are running at what 30-40% inflation in trades businesses and once prices go up, they don't seem to go down , even if the straight opens again.

Anyway — enough politics.

Since Albo apparently won’t be helping, we’re looking for a replacement.

🔌 We’re chasing:
• A reliable T/A — ideally with an ABN
• Someone we can call on short notice
• Plenty of general electrical and labouring work available

We’re also hunting for:
⚡ A qualified tradesman

We’re flexible, but ideally looking for someone with:
• Motivation
• Initiative
• Pride in their work
• Skills they’d actually be happy to show an apprentice

Based around Dongara / Midwest WA, with some Perth and beyond work available.

If you’re keen to work, not scared of getting your hands dirty, and can solve problems without needing a 14-person committee meeting first — send us a message.

🐷 Sick of Albo ripping into your piggy bank? 💰⚡

Power bills up.
Groceries up.
Insurance up.
Everything up.

Meanwhile, out here in the Mid West, many locals just want something basic:

Reliable power.

Western Power data for the Shire of Irwin (Dongara / Port Denison region) showed:

⚡ 60+ average hours without power per customer in a 12-month period

⚡ Multiple extended outages, with some stretching beyond 12 hours

⚡ The Shire of Irwin was identified among the worst affected areas in WA for power reliability

For a lot of homes and businesses, solar and battery systems are becoming less about trends and more about taking back a bit of control:

🔋 Lower power bills
🔋 Protection against bill shock
🔋 Keep essentials running during outages
🔋 Keep internet, fridges, pumps and freezers alive
🔋 Use your own power after the sun goes down

We're not pretending solar and batteries magically fix the whole network — but they can help take some of the sting out for individual homes and businesses.
And yes, it's nice that Dongara itself has 6 × 500kVA backup generators helping prop up supply, but zoom out beyond town and it still feels like much of regional WA gets left at the back of the queue.
Country communities don't need more speeches.
They need infrastructure.
Very little allocated in these recent budgets.

Albo's smashing trusts... we're smashing battery prices.

While Canberra finds new ways to take a bigger bite, we're helping working Aussies keep more of what they earn.

🔋 Battery installs from 1 July
🔋 Existing solar systems
🔋 10–30kWh systems best roi
🔋 Battery backup circuits
🔋 Lower power bills, more self-use, less feeding the grid for peanuts

Bracket creep up. Gas and electricity bills up.
Battery prices down.
