Four finalist entries. Our biggest year yet. 🏆

This year, Strong Constructions is heading into the Master Builders Tasmania Awards for Excellence with the most finalist entries we’ve ever had:

• Highfield Outlook — Renovation/Addition $500,000–$750,000
• Rose Cottage — Renovation/Addition $750,000–$1 Million
• Kids Paradise — Unique Space
• Adam Armstrong — Young Builder of the Year

It’s been a year of growth for us in every sense of the word - as a business, as a team, in the projects we’ve taken on and in the standards we continue to set for ourselves.

To our clients, thank you for trusting us with your homes, your ideas and some pretty special projects. And to our team - none of this happens without you. Every one of these finalist spots represents a huge collective effort and we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built together.

We’re on our way to Hobart ahead of the awards tomorrow night, and whatever happens, having four finalist entries is something worth celebrating.

Looking forward to a weekend celebrating everything we’ve achieved, alongside some incredible builders and businesses from across the industry.

✈️ From Tassie to Melbourne: The Next Chapter 🛠️

Just touched down back home after an unforgettable trip across the Tasman! I headed over to Melbourne for some serious upskilling at the ARDEX Academy. I am now officially certified to install ARDEX sheet waterproofing membranes - mastering everything from complex corner detailing to the heavy-duty WeldTec Garden Tanking System.
This certification marks a huge milestone for us as we cement our path forward as unique home specialists.

🏡 Site Visit: Strathewen
After the course, I drove out to Nillumbik Shire to walk the site for our next major project in Strathewen. This build has been in the works for a couple of years now, and honestly, it is a career-long dream come true. We are building a fully earth-covered house!
Because this beautiful location sits in a high-risk area with BAL-40 bushfire regulations, the design has to be incredibly resilient. Merging the structure into the earth offers ultimate natural protection against the elements, but dealing with subterranean pressure means the waterproofing must be flawless. That is exactly why this ARDEX training was so vital. From the muddy site tracks to the classroom, this trip has set the foundation for the most exciting chapter of my career yet.

Glenfield.

There are so many areas taking shape at once on this major renovation.

With decks one and two nearing completion, work is now underway on deck number three and we couldn’t resist sharing a look at those curves taking shape in the roof structure. 👌

Glenfield is a time-consuming project, with plenty of intricate details coming together across the build.

Lots happening. Lots still to come. 💪

It’s one thing to build a home, it’s another to create an experience people walk away happy with.

North Street was a special one, and having clients like Chris and Caitlin trust us with their vision made it even better.

Here’s what Chris had to say about the experience from start to finish.

We don’t take feedback like this lightly, and being invited back for a drink in the finished upstairs bar says more than anything we could.

The final reveal – Kids Paradise 💪🏼

What started as an idea (and a pile of leftover materials) turned into this… a full-blown backyard playground.

For Dad, this was about building the backyard he always wished he had as a kid… and let’s be honest, probably still wanted now.

For Mum, it means a hot coffee… and five minutes where no one’s asking for snacks 🤪

Somehow it’s also become the neighbourhood playground… the kind of backyard every kid ends up in.

Not your average backyard, but then again, we don’t do average.

Safe to say there are a few perks to having your Dad as a builder 😉💪🏼
