Laundry Detail | Planning for Two WM Spaces
In a custom home, the small details are not always about whether something can fit, they are also about how well it will work in daily use.
In this case, the highlighted area shows the original laundry layout, with enough space to allow for two WM spaces:
Sink + WM + WM
From a size and space perspective, this layout can be achieved.
However, during our plan review, we also considered the future use, water supply, drainage connection, appliance installation and maintenance access.
After further coordination, we suggested adjusting the layout to:
WM + Sink + WM
With the sink positioned between the two WM spaces, it can better support both sides and provide a more practical arrangement for plumbing, drainage and future maintenance.
Of course, this does not mean the original layout cannot be done, and it does not apply to every laundry.
The final arrangement always depends on the wall location, pipework, cabinet design, appliance sizes and the client’s lifestyle.
