Yesterday it was proactive maintenance, Today reactive treatments.
2 inspections, 2 different construction types, 2 different species of termites found that will require 2 different types of treatment.

Another day, another couple of property’s saved.
First job was a Sentricon Always Active install around the perimeter of the house and 22 trees drilled for 11 active, second job 20 trees drilled for a total of 5 active.
Both property’s had a clear timber pest inspection 2 weeks prior and accepted our termite management plans.

Sarges confidence is growing each week, we have been working on field experience and active trees, still a bit off but for such a young pup he’s switched on.

Kicking off the week with a task that deviates from termite-related services, namely rodent-proofing a large commercial site and installing carpet bridges to enable the safe escape of future trapped rodents from range-hood ducting, thereby preventing death and foul odors in the ductwork.

Odour distraction of wool, sheep s**t, chemical and other dogs, did not stop Sarge zeroing in on old termite damage.

Yes, although it’s obvious to the eye, What if that damage was concealed in a wall cavity with no visible signs!

There is a lot of great tools out there for helping us find indicators or conducive conditions for termite activity…
Moisture meter - detects moisture
Thermal image - detects thermal differences
Movement radar - detects movement

These are all great tools and we use them all everyday to form part of our inspection, but a properly trained termite detection dog finds termite odour no matter how old or how early the infestation, whether it’s visible, producing heat or moisture or inactive and no movement, a dog will find it. Combined with 20+ years experience it’s a combination you can trust.
