This one is in the running for the 2026 HIA Kitchen of the Year. Now we wait.

The timber feature is the reason. It carries the whole room. Warms the light, softens the joinery, gives the space somewhere to settle.

What happens when something with your kitchen renovation goes horribly wrong? Honestly, it depends who you go with.

Four years ago, we cut the sink hole wrong on a $20,000 Dekton benchtop. Honest mistake, but a costly one. We had one option "cut a new stone the way we were meant to". We don't cut corners and we own up to our mistakes. We don't patch it up and "hope the customer doesnt notice".

That kitchen took out the award later that year. The client loved the finished room. And the original stone is still sitting in my backyard four years on. Keep meaning to chuck it out. Can't quite bring myself to.
