A BEAUTIFUL ANTHRACITE GREY TRANSFORMATION IN ROWVILLE

These new Anthracite Grey uPVC double-glazed windows have given John and Maureen’s Rowville home a sharper, more contemporary appearance, while sitting beautifully alongside the existing render, brickwork and roofline.

The project was about much more than appearance. With the home situated near a busy road, reducing outside noise was particularly important, along with improving insulation and reducing their reliance on heating and cooling.

🏡 A CLOSER LOOK | Templestowe VIC 3106

Anthracite Grey outside / White inside Custom-made uPVC windows and doors throughout.

Following our recent before-and-after post, here are three more views of the completed whole-home transformation.

From the street, the Anthracite Grey uPVC frames create a contemporary contrast against the existing brickwork. The large raked windows were custom manufactured to follow the original roofline and preserve the home’s distinctive proportions.

At the dining room, an outward-opening European awning window was incorporated within the larger fixed glazing. This provides excellent ventilation without opening into the room or interfering with internal blinds and curtains, while the surrounding glass maintains plenty of natural light.

From inside, the White finish creates a lighter, softer appearance around the custom double entrance doors, frosted sidelights and highlight glazing.

Using Anthracite Grey externally and White internally allowed the homeowners to modernise the exterior without introducing dark frames throughout the home.

Every opening was designed individually, but the completed result feels consistent from the front entrance right through to the upper-storey windows.

With so much glass throughout this two-storey home, the original single-glazed timber windows contributed to cold winter conditions and draughts. The kitchen also suffered from excessive summer heat, forcing the owners to keep the blinds closed throughout summer. Security, traffic noise and timber maintenance were also important considerations.

Nu-Eco Windows upgraded the entire home in one stage, replacing 28 timber frames with uPVC double-glazed windows and doors.

The installation included:

High-performance windows aren’t only about what changes outside. The real difference is experienced inside the home.

For this Kew property, the priority was creating more comfortable living and working spaces through improved thermal insulation—without making the new windows feel out of place within the established interior.

White Ash uPVC sash-insert awning double glazed windows were installed across the living, dining and study areas. Their painted-timber appearance and sculptured profiles sit naturally within the existing window boxes, architraves and traditional internal detailing.

Behind that familiar appearance is a high-performance 28mm double-glazed unit comprising toughened glass, a 20mm argon-filled cavity and Passive Low-E glass coating. Together with the insulating uPVC frames, this helps reduce heat transfer through the windows and supports more consistent indoor temperatures throughout Melbourne’s seasons.

The rear living area was also opened up with a full-replacement three-pane uPVC sliding patio door and matching top-lights. The large glazed area brings in natural light and maintains a strong connection to the garden, while the sliding configuration improves everyday access without requiring swing space inside the room or outside in the courtyard.

Character retained. Comfort transformed in Kew.

For this established Kew home, improved thermal insulation was the priority—but the new windows also needed to preserve the property’s traditional character.

The homeowner had used uPVC previously and came to us with a clear brief: genuine thermal performance, carefully considered products and a finish that would still feel appropriate for the home.

Across the study, living and dining areas, we installed White Ash uPVC sash-insert awning windows. White Ash provides the appearance of painted timber, while the sculptured frame detailing complements the home’s established character.

Installing the windows into the existing timber boxes, allowed internal and external heritage detailing to remain in place. This preserved the original proportions and created the sympathetic two-tone combination of White Ash frames within the existing grey surrounds.

The windows were glazed with 28mm insulated double glazed units comprising of toughened glass, a 20mm argon-filled cavity and a Passive Low-E coating—carefully specified to improve year-round thermal insulation.

The rear opening also needed to become more functional. Working alongside the homeowner’s builder, the existing nib walls were removed and a full-replacement three-pane uPVC sliding patio door with toplights (to match existing detail) was installed down to floor level.

Because the door slides rather than swings, it provides easier access to the courtyard without taking up valuable space inside or outside.

One carefully planned project, delivering two important outcomes: stronger thermal performance and a result that still belongs to the home.

🥶 POV: Your windows have more condensation than your shower screen...

With the colder weather, condensation is one of the most common questions we’re being asked at the moment.

The first thing to know is this:

Condensation isn’t the problem — it’s a symptom.

It happens when warm, moisture-filled air inside your home comes into contact with a cold surface. That’s why it’s so common on older single-glazed windows during winter.

But here’s the important part...

Not every home with condensation simply “needs new windows.”

Sometimes the biggest issue is high humidity or poor ventilation. In other homes, older single glazing is a major contributor because the glass gets so cold that moisture easily forms on the inside.

🏡 Another fantastic transformation recently completed in Ferntree Gully.

Our clients originally contacted us because they wanted to make their home more weatherproof while enjoying all the benefits of modern double glazing.

For this project, we replaced 10 existing windows and doors with our premium uPVC double glazed system, finished in Anthracite Grey externally with White internally. The installation included:

Ascot Vale Double Glazed Window Replacement

This recent project in Ascot Vale involved replacing five heavily deteriorated timber windows with new Nu-Eco uPVC double glazed windows, helping improve comfort, noise and energy efficiency throughout the home.

One of the things this customer was most excited about after installation was the immediate improvement in both internal temperature and noise reduction.
