πŸš› BUILDER TIP | ACCESS & SET-DOWN CHECKLIST

Before the truck arrives with your roof trusses, floor trusses or wall frames, take a few minutes to check the site.

ACCESS CHECK
☐ Can the delivery vehicle enter and leave safely?
☐ Is the driveway or street clear?
☐ Are there low branches, overhead power lines or gates to consider?
☐ Are parked cars or other obstacles restricting access?
☐ Is the ground suitable for the delivery?

SET-DOWN CHECK
☐ Is there a clear, level and safe area for unloading?
☐ Is there enough room to unload the materials?
☐ Is the area practical without interfering with other trades or machinery?

If access is tight or your site has limited space, let your supplier know early. Staged delivery may also need to be considered on larger or restricted sites. (TrussFab)

🚧 WHAT CAN CAUSE FRAME & TRUSS DELAYS?

A delay with your roof trusses, floor trusses or wall frames can have a knock-on effect across the whole build.

But many delays can be reduced with the right preparation.

Incomplete plans, engineering still being finalised, changes to drawings, site readiness and delivery access are just some of the things that can affect the process.

πŸ—οΈ BUILDER TIP: HOW CAN WALL FRAMES SAVE TIME ON SITE?

One simple advantage of prefabricated wall frames is that more of the framing work is completed before it reaches the site.

That can mean:

βœ”οΈ Less cutting on site
βœ”οΈ Less measuring and sorting
βœ”οΈ Easier identification of each wall section
βœ”οΈ A more organised framing process
βœ”οΈ Less pressure on the site crew

When frames are manufactured, labelled and prepared to suit the project plans, your crew can spend less time preparing materials and more time getting the job moving.

The key? Good preparation starts before manufacture.

We’ve broken down how prefabricated wall frames can help save time, improve organisation and support smoother scheduling in our latest blog.

πŸ—οΈ CAN PREFABRICATED WALL FRAMES SAVE TIME ON SITE?
Time on site matters.

For builders, delays can affect labour, scheduling and follow-on trades. For owner-builders, they can make an already complicated project even more difficult to manage.

Prefabricated wall frames can help make the framing stage more organised by doing much of the cutting, measuring and preparation before the materials arrive on site.

But how does it actually work?

In our latest Trussfab blog, we look at:
πŸ”Ή How prefabricated wall frames can reduce cutting and sorting on site
πŸ”Ή How labelled frames can make installation more organised
πŸ”Ή How they can help with scheduling and site efficiency
πŸ”Ή Why preparation and accurate plans still matter
πŸ”Ή What builders and owner-builders should consider before manufacture

🏠 BUILDER TIP: KNOW WHAT EACH FRAME & TRUSS PRODUCT DOES

Not every part of a building frame does the same job.

If you’re planning a new build, extension or development, it helps to understand the basics:

πŸ”Ή Roof Trusses β€” form the structural framework of the roof and are manufactured to suit the project design.

πŸ”Ή Floor Trusses β€” provide the structural framework for floors and can help create an organised system for the services and floor structure.

πŸ”Ή Wall Frames β€” form the framework for the walls and are prepared to suit the plans before delivery to site.

πŸ”Ή Framing Supplies β€” the timber and related materials needed for your framing requirements.

Knowing what each product does can make it easier to understand your plans, discuss your requirements and work out what you need for your project.
