Working with Surf Coast Shire Council, Leadsun made one of Torquay’s busiest streets safer for the people who use it every day.

12 AEX solar street lights were installed across six pedestrian crossings on Fischer Street, improving visibility and safety along this popular commuter link.

100% off-grid and powered by the suns rays, this upgrade was delivered in a fraction of the time it would normally take, with no trenching, cabling or the usual delays that come with traditional grid-connected lighting. Now that's smart!

Hamilton Base Hospital's Tyers Street crossing is a critical pedestrian link used by patients, staff and visitors at all hours of the day and night.

The 2km Tarneit Wayfinding Trail connects the Cowies Hill Water Tower to Derrimut Road, creating a safer and more inviting route for the local community to walk, ride and explore.

Installed by Wyndham City Council, the trail features 46 Leadsun solar lights, including AE3 and AE6 pole-mounted systems and solar bollards, delivering dependable illumination without the need for traditional grid infrastructure.

Designed to operate intelligently from dusk until dawn, the lighting provides higher output during peak evening hours before dimming overnight — balancing safety, performance and energy efficiency.

Torquay's Fischer Street is one of the busiest active transport routes on Victoria's Surf Coast, connecting families, cyclists, students and commuters every day. But with a history of serious crashes, improving safety was a priority.

Working with Surf Coast Shire Council, our team delivered an off grid solar lighting solution across six pedestrian crossings using our AEX solar street lights and CrossingLED MAX luminaires. The result is compliant, high performance lighting that improves visibility, enhances pedestrian safety and avoids the costs, delays and disruption of traditional grid connected infrastructure.

This World Conservation Day, we're celebrating the role smart, sustainable infrastructure plays in making the world a better place.
