Qld smoke alarm laws have changed - and many homes are still not up to standard.
IMPORTANT COMPLIANCE DATES -
From JANUARY 2022, all homes being sold or leased must comply.
By JANUARY 2027, all Qld homes including owner/occupied must comply to the rule changes.
WHAT’S REQUIRED NOW?
✅Photoelectric and Interconnected - when one sounds they all sound.
WHERE ALARMS MUST BE INSTALLED
✅ Inside every bedroom/or room that could be used as a bedroom.
✅In hallways connecting bedrooms to the rest of house.
✅on every level/storey.
✅Smoke alarms older than 10 years must be replaced.
✅Alarms compliant with Australian Standard.
