🔥 GAS REGULATOR UPGRADE & SAFETY REPAIRS 🔧

We recently attended a property after the LPG gas system wasn't operating correctly.

🔍 Problem: The gas regulator had failed, and the existing installation was not compliant with current gas standards.

🔧 Works Completed:
✅ Replaced the failed regulator with a new 250MJ LPG regulator
✅ Modified the gas pipework to bring the installation up to standard
✅ Installed new compliance plate
✅ Pressure tested and checked the system to ensure it was operating safely

💨 While on site...
The homeowner also reported their indoor gas heater wouldn't stay alight.

🔍 After inspecting the unit, we found a build-up of hair and debris inside the heater affecting its operation.

🧹 A thorough clean restored normal operation, and the heater is now igniting and running correctly.

🚽 IT'S NOT ALWAYS A PRETTY PICTURE... 🌳💩

When a customer called us about a blocked toilet, we suspected there was more going on than a simple blockage.

🎥 CCTV Camera Inspection: We inspected the main sewer line and found multiple tree roots had broken into the pipe, causing repeated blockages and restricting the flow.

🔧 Works Completed:
✅ Cleared access through the toilet
✅ Removed the old bedding and reset the toilet pan with new sand and cement
✅ Restored the toilet to correct working order

⚠️ The Outcome:
While we got everything flowing again, the camera inspection confirmed the sewer line has been damaged by tree roots. Unfortunately, this means the pipe will eventually need replacing to prevent ongoing blockages.

🌳 Tree roots are one of the most common causes of blocked drains. They seek out moisture and can enter even the smallest cracks in underground pipes, growing larger over time.

🌧️ STORMWATER PROBLEMS? A CAMERA INSPECTION CAN PROVIDE THE ANSWERS. 🎥

Not every drainage issue is caused by a blocked pipe.

We recently carried out a CCTV stormwater inspection on a property's drainage system to check the condition of the underground pipework.

✅ What we checked:
🎥 Inspected the stormwater line from the shed to the street connection
🔍 Checked for blockages, cracks and damaged pipework
✔️ Confirmed the line was continuous and flowing as intended

💡 What we also found:
The ground around sections of the shed was sitting higher than the finished floor level and wasn't consistently sloping away from the building. During heavy rainfall, this can allow water to collect around the shed, even when the stormwater pipes are functioning correctly.

Sometimes the issue isn't what's happening underground—it's what's happening above it.

🔥 CHAR GRILL BACK UP AND RUNNING 🔧

We were called out to investigate a commercial char grill that was having ignition issues and wouldn't stay alight.

🔍 Problem: The burner flame was failing to stay lit due to a faulty thermocouple and blocked burner jets.

🔧 Fix: We replaced the faulty thermocouple, removed and thoroughly cleaned the burner and jets to eliminate the blockage, then reassembled and tested the appliance.

✅ Result: The char grill is now igniting reliably and operating correctly, with a stable flame and safe performance restored. ✔️

Gas appliances that won't stay alight should always be checked promptly, as they can indicate faulty safety components or blocked burners that require professional attention.

🚰 DAM TRANSFER PIPELINE 🔧

We recently installed and configured new valve controls to improve water management between Dams. This improved reliability, protection and flow management.

🔧 We installed suitable valves to allow water flow between both dams to be easily adjusted and controlled as required. The valve layout was arranged so the desired flow path can be selected simply by turning the relevant valves on or off.

♨️ HOT WATER SYSTEM UPGRADE COMPLETED 🔧

We recently helped a homeowner upgrade their hot water system and relocate it to a more practical position inside the home.

🔍 Problem: The existing hot water system and solar unit had reached the end of their service life and needed replacing.

🔧 Fix: We removed the old hot water system and solar panels, then supplied and installed a new Thermann 160L Hot Water System in the laundry cupboard. The installation included a new pressure limiting valve, duo valve, tempering valve, a safe tray with a leak detection valve and all necessary pipework modifications.

✅ Result: The customer now has a reliable new hot water system installed safely indoors, with all old equipment professionally removed and disposed of. 🚿✔️

🔥 LPG GAS REGULATOR REPLACED 🔧

We were called out to a cottage after the owner reported smelling gas near their LPG bottles.

🔍 Problem: A leak was detected at the LPG gas regulator.

🔧 Fix: We tested the regulator, pigtails and all associated fittings using approved leak detection methods to confirm the source of the leak. A new 400MJ gas regulator was supplied and installed, all connections were reassembled and the entire gas line was pressure tested.

✅ Result: Gas leak eliminated, the system passed all final leak and pressure tests, and the gas supply was operating safely again. ✔️

Gas leaks should never be ignored. If you smell gas or suspect a leak around your LPG bottles or gas appliances, turn off the gas supply if it's safe to do so and call a plumber.

🚰 Under Sink Leak Fixed

A homeowner noticed water pooling under their kitchen sink and called us to take a look.

🔍 Problem: A leaking pipe connection under the sink
🔧 Repair: replaced flexi hose as recommended to change every 5 years
