Sometimes the best design decision is knowing what to leave alone. When we stripped back the old rendering on this original brick wall at our Darlinghurst project, we weren’t sure what we’d find underneath - turns out it was worth the risk. The texture and warmth of the exposed brick now anchors the whole stairwell, backlit to show off every imperfection.
The mono stringer staircase was custom fabricated by Sydney Staircase Builders - a striking, minimal counterpoint to all that raw texture.
