Here’s another log we salvaged and milled to become a bench seat. Solid Spotted Gum with plenty of years to it.

A lot of extra work goes into retaining these sections during tree removal: transporting them to our yard, milling them to size, and transporting again to their final resting place. Absolutely worth it.

These logs came from some trees we removed late last year. The lengths and species were far too good to cut up into firewood, and deserved a better outcome.

We milled the top and bottom to make these awesome bench seats for the fire pit, which should outlive any outdoor setting that could be bought from a store.

We did a habitat reduction on this Banksia, which featured a pre-existing active kookaburra hollow part way up the trunk, and multiple limb failures due to long term borer damage.

The hollow that we added in at the top is far more suitable for kookaburras, and will remain much more sheltered from the prevailing SW weather.
