Well water stop that is....

No sexy finish photos here to see, just some construction images to show how we think connecting the water stop to cavity slider pocket can be achieved.

Step 1. We removed the mdf supplied on the base of the cavity slider and replaced it with 10mm wedi

Step 2. We connected the wedi subliner to the floor board, rough openings and cavity picket.

Step 3. Undercut the cavity slider reveal to suit 5 mm above finished tile height

Step 4. Install aluminium angle the full length of the opening and connect to the wedi floor board.

Reality is ....

Unfortunately not everyone is going to have the budget for high performance upvc windows, as much as we would love that to be the case sometimes it just isn't.

It doesn't mean that we can't provide the same level of care and attention to detail when installing them.

This is on a re-clad and window replacement job on Phillip island. We would typically have a back dam fitted or a sill pan on top of the window sill. As the openings where existing and the eint wished to keep the windows the same dimensions you are left with few options. My initial thought was to increase the head heights and do the back dams as per normal. Fortunately having two heads on something is great for problem solving. Max from had a clever idea to remove the existing plates to create the back dam with a rebate coupled with my idea of providing fall whilst using the existing materials at hand and preventing them ending up in land fill.

A massive thank you to all the amazing trades and suppliers without you it would have not been possible to achieve turning an old mowing factory into a luxurious wellness center.
