Ensuring our walls stay free from unwanted moisture and mould. We have chosen to use intello plus system to protect the structure behind all the aesthetic internal finishes.

How is your investment and sanctuary being protected ?

Everyone enjoys the tile selection, the cabinetry finishes the natural stone bench tops, but what is the point of all the aesthetics if what protects them isn't protected itself !

This is our approach to ensure your frame is protected from water and unwanted air infiltration for the life of the building. Not only will it protect your investment, it will ensure a weather tight barrier before any roofing or cladding is added.

This is our minimum standard and our commitment to you. 😊

Managing the air and water management around the new windows into an existing window opening calls for some pre-planning.

When you can't externally flash and tape the windows to the wrb then you have to work inside out.

Here we approchoaded the task by;

1. creating a sloped sill to drain water away from the rough opening into the brick cavity.

2. Tapped the existing building wrap into the existing rough opening using proclima tescon flashing tape

3. Made our slopped sill water proof by installing proclima extoseal sill tape

4. To overcome the external flashing we installed Hannoband sealing tape to the window prior to installation.

5. Spray foam tbe perimeter with low expansion flexible foam to ensure insulation around the window is continuous.

Result? water management✅ , air infiltration management ✅, continuous insulation ✅

Prevention & pre planning.

The 5 P's!

Prior , Preparation, Prevents, Poor, Performance !

Although this little extension is small, doesn't mean it doesn't deserve extra thought In the detailing to ensure it lasts !

A few minor things to ensure longevity,

1. Use offcuts to lay over any metal bracing to prevent any abrasions to your roof membrane

2. Route any sharp edges on corners of framing members that could pierce your membrane

3. Solid block under joins in your roof membrane to ensure good application when press fixing your pressure sensitive tapes

4. Consider drainage plains and drying pathways
