City Beach Project’s outdoor entertaining area.

The double-height loggia was designed to provide protection from the sun and prevailing winds, while still feeling open and connected to the outdoors. The generous volume creates a sheltered poolside space without feeling enclosed, making it a comfortable place to enjoy throughout the year.

Details from House 16, West Leederville.

One of the nicest parts of our job is getting the chance to revisit projects years after they’ve been completed.

We recently returned to this home, which was completed in 2018. Nearly eight years on, it was wonderful to see that it still feels just as calm, warm and enjoyable to be in as the day it was finished.

A simple palette of natural oak, stone and carefully detailed finishes runs throughout the home, creating a sense of continuity while strengthening the connection to the surrounding garden.

It’s moments like these that remind us why we design the way we do. Our focus has always been on creating homes that will be loved and enjoyed for decades, not just the day they’re completed.

Orientated to capture northern light while framing expansive views, the home balances openness with protection from the coastal climate. Rammed limestone walls, travertine flooring and untreated timber combine to create spaces that feel calm, robust and deeply connected to place.

A little insight into our process.

All of our projects start with sketches. There is something about putting pen to paper that digital tools can’t quite replicate.

Before the plans, models and renders, there are sketches. Hundreds of them.

Quick ideas, design explorations and problem solving on paper remain an important part of our design process.
