🐔 Chook Coop Clean-Out Day! 🧹💩

Not every job around Kacoki Acres is glamorous… and today was definitely one of those jobs! 😆

The chook coops got a good clean-out, fresh bedding and a tidy-up ready for the girls to mess it all up again in record time. 😂🐔

There’s something pretty satisfying about seeing everything fresh and clean though — happy chooks, healthy chooks! 🥰

And of course, all that beautiful chook manure won’t be going to waste. Once properly composted, it’ll be heading back into the garden to help grow our veggies. 🌱🥕🥦

Nothing wasted — just another little part of the cycle here at Kacoki Acres. ❤️🌾

I love garden-fresh produce! 🥕🌱
We popped down to our local farmers market and picked up a few goodies, including these absolutely beautiful carrots.
Now, confession time… I am NOT good at growing carrots! 😕😂 I love eating them, but apparently growing them is another story.
So I’m calling on all the green thumbs out there — what are your best tips for growing big, straight, beautiful carrots? 🥕 Do you have a favourite variety? A soil trick? Something you swear by?
I’d love to get better at growing them because nothing beats walking into the garden and picking dinner fresh from the ground. 💚

☀️ What a beautiful day! ☀️

The sun was shining and it was just absolutely gorgeous outside today. 🥰

We harvested some fresh veggies from the garden 🥬🥕, checked in on the girls and all their little white babies 🐑🤍, and took Milly and Molly some scraps from the veggie garden — which, of course, they were more than happy to help us dispose of! 🐮😂

Jason settled in to watch his footy game, and I tried to watch it with him… but apparently an afternoon snooze sounded much better. 😴😆😆

Nothing huge or exciting today. Just sunshine, animals, homegrown food and a quiet afternoon together.

And sometimes, those really are the best kind of days. ❤️🌿

Sometimes you just need to step away from the paddocks, the chores and the beautiful chaos of farm life and make time for each other ❤️

Tonight it was date night with my darling at Wild Swan 🥂✨

A chance to slow down, enjoy some beautiful food, share a few laughs and remember that amongst all the building, growing and chasing dreams… we are still a team.

So grateful for this man and the life we are creating together. From muddy boots and early mornings on the farm, to dressing up for a special night out — I wouldn’t choose anyone else to share this journey with ❤️

We are so bad at selfies 😆😆😆😆

The girls moved into the back paddock today 🐑🌿

Rotating our ewes through the paddocks is an important part of how we manage the farm. It gives grazed areas time to rest and recover, helps keep our pastures healthier and makes better use of the feed we have available.

And at this time of year, moving paddocks comes with a pretty cute view… lots of little white babies running around everywhere! 🤍🐑🤍

There’s something pretty special about watching the paddocks come alive with mums and their growing lambs.

Another beautiful day at Kacoki Acres 🌿

There are babies everywhere at Kacoki Acres! 🐑🥰

Yesterday, Kiara, Kait and I had another big farm job to tackle — separating our bigger lambs from their mummas.

They’re around 4½ months old now, and honestly, some of them aren’t looking much like babies anymore! 😂 They’ve grown so much and are big, strong lambs ready for their next stage.

There was plenty of calling out between mums and babies while everyone worked out where they were supposed to be — I think the humans found it harder than some of the sheep! 😬😂

Meanwhile, with all the younger lambs still bouncing around the paddocks, it really does feel like there are babies EVERYWHERE at the moment. ❤️

Another little milestone in our farming journey. Watching them go from tiny newborn lambs to these big, healthy youngsters never gets old.

Some days don’t go as we planned.
Sometimes, neither do the weeks or even the months. 🤎

But every step, no matter how small, is still movement forward.

Celebrate the little wins. Be proud of how far you’ve come. And keep looking ahead.

What’s behind you is there for a reason. Learn from it, grow from it, but don’t let it stop you from moving forward.

Life doesn’t always follow the path we imagined, and that’s okay. Sometimes the unexpected roads teach us the most.

Take the lessons, treasure the good moments, let go of what you can’t change, and keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Tomorrow is another opportunity. 🌿🤎

Photo of Quinn and Tilly the real "sheep" dog because they are cute 😍

Been a little quiet of late.
We recently lost a family member very unexpectedly, just a young man trying to find his way in life. He had all that he could have achieved taken by two strangers. Three lives have been destroyed by poor decisions. My heart is hurting I just have this overwhelming feeling of what ifs.
