Verandah restoration in Hamilton
The bones of this wraparound verandah were still worth saving, so that's exactly what we did. The old surface came up, the frame underneath was checked over and reinforced, and any timber past its best was swapped for new – including a few of the posts.
Then the part we enjoy most: fresh hardwood boards laid right across, with a neat 45° detail where the deck turns the corner. A lovely period home, and the new deck sits on it like it's always been there.
Good for decades of morning coffees and summer evenings.
