Futostone

Futostone Les Futo has a genuine passion for his stonemasonry work and is committed and dedicated to his profession. Terrazzo, Restoration and Sculpture are a focus.

Background

I first became involved in stonemasonry in 1989, and was very fortunate to have been involved in the restoration of the Scotts Church Melbourne where I was taught and inspired by Master Mason, Hungarian born Bill Zambo. This became a launching pad for a 20+ year career in stonemasonry which has had me working on some of Melbourne's finest historical buildings including St Pats Catheder

al, St Michaels, Melbourne GPO and The Old Melbourne Gaol. TERRAZZO

Terrazzo first caught my eye in a documentary in 2002, I was immediately excited by the design and colour possibilities offered by the time-honoured process of terrazzo. Coincidently I met a local retired Italian expert who agreed to sell his trove of marble stock and machinery – a man who was happy to answer all the technical questions over a coffee. Futostone have since opened up new ground in commercial and domestic applications. We are grateful to those who have shared their accumulated knowledge and we support the free flow of information in all the trades. Contact Les Futo for more information or a no obligation quote.
