2. An idea of the available space
Approximate dimensions or a few backyard photos can provide helpful context.

3. What access looks like
Side access and surrounding site conditions can influence planning.

4. How you want to use the pool
Family swimming, relaxing, entertaining or something more compact?

5. Your approximate timing

A pool project starts long before the shell reaches your backyard.

Samlock’s process begins with a site assessment, reviewing key details such as access, available space, site levels, services and which pool design best suits the property.

From there, the project moves through pool selection, site requirements, the proposal and the relevant approval pathway.

Once everything is ready, installation can begin, including excavation, pool placement, plumbing and the agreed surrounding works.

The process doesn’t end when the pool is full.

“My backyard probably isn’t big enough.”

That assumption can end the pool conversation before it starts.

A better question is: what could work within the space while still leaving the backyard usable?

Samlock’s featured Leisure Pools range includes the Fiji Plunge, a compact, flat-bottom design measuring 2.9 metres long by 2.1 metres wide, with a wide sitting bench.

That doesn’t mean every small property will suit a pool. Access, site conditions, levels, placement and the surrounding outdoor area still matter.

But compact sites deserve proper planning, not an automatic “no”.

Think about how you want to use the space too. Cooling off? Relaxing? Entertaining? Keeping lawn or patio space?
