Cleaning your filters is a great habit, but there’s a lot more going on inside your split system than what you can see. 👀
 
Over time, dust, grime and build-up can make their way deeper into the unit. That’s where a proper split system deep clean comes in.
 
We get right inside the unit, protect the area around it and wash out the build-up that a quick filter clean can’t reach. And yes… the water at the end can be pretty satisfying (and sometimes a little horrifying) to see. 😅
 
If your air con smells a bit funky, isn’t cooling like it used to, or you genuinely can’t remember the last time it had a proper clean, now’s a good time to get it sorted before Perth summer kicks in.

The Smartfix team installed this statement pendant light over the kitchen island, taking care to get the positioning and height right so it sits naturally within the room.
 
With a feature light like this, the final details matter just as much as getting it powered up — especially when it’s going to be one of the first things you notice when you walk into the kitchen.

We hear this one more often than you’d think. 😅
 
A safety switch tripping is usually trying to tell you something. Sometimes it’s an appliance, sometimes there’s an issue elsewhere in the circuit, and sometimes it takes a bit of testing to get to the bottom of it.
 
The good news? You don’t need to diagnose it yourself. That’s our job.

There’s a little more going on here than replacing a few switches. ⚡

This job involved a full rebuild of a three-phase electrical consumer panel, including reorganising the electrical load across the property, installing safety switches across all circuits, and completing testing of the existing wiring, earthing system and roof space.

While we were there, the team also took care of a new hard-wired smoke alarm, weatherproof power point and a number of other electrical checks and upgrades around the property.

A big part of jobs like this is looking at the electrical system as a whole. It’s not just about fixing what’s directly in front of us — it’s making sure the property is properly protected, the electrical demand is managed and the installation meets current standards.

We asked qualified electrician Jarrad to explain it.

Sensor lights detect changes in infrared heat. So when a person, or even a pet, moves into the sensor’s range, that change in body heat can trigger the light to switch on.
Simple tech, but very handy for driveways, entryways and outdoor areas around the home. 💡

We recently attended Yanchep Vet Hospital to install a new sensor light above the dog wash area.

The job included:

• Supply and installation of a double spotlight with sensor
• External conduit work from the laundry area to the new light location
• Full testing on completion
A simple upgrade that gives the team better visibility around the dog wash area, especially after dark.
