Roots and all, straight out of a customer's gutter.

It starts as leaf litter. It holds water, breaks down into soil, and then seeds do what seeds do. But the real damage isn't the plant — it's what the wet debris underneath has been doing all along.

Sitting compost keeps moisture against the steel around the clock, and that's how a Colorbond gutter rusts through from the inside where nobody can see it. Meanwhile the run can't drain, so heavy rain goes over the edge and back into the fascia and roof cavity instead.

Rust holes, sagging sections and gutters pulling away from the fascia are the warning signs. Repairs start in the hundreds; a full replacement on a standard home runs into the thousands.
