We are excited to share that another project is moving into Construction Design phase in Beechworth, Victoria. This 3 bedroom home sits upon a small suburban site which slopes steeply north towards beautiful Lake Sambell. The plan will provide stunning views from the primary living spaces, and balances the facility of gold-standard liveability design with energy efficiency, performing well in its initial rating. Thanks to our clients Sue and Jerry for their commitment to the design process so far!

Rosie and Will are getting ready to build a rear extension to their home in Albury. The design process involved reprogramming the existing spaces to shift the kitchen, living and dining space towards their north-facing backyard. The revised plan will add an additional bedroom and bathroom to accommodate their growing family, and connect everyone more directly with the outdoors. We are looking forward to supporting Will and Rosie with their upcoming build!

We’re about to make a start on construction details for Simon and Elisa’s owner-build project in Tawonga. We’ve absolutely loved working with this family of three to support them in their dream to build their own forever home in the Alpine Shire. BRD Studio aims to help make this overwhelming process as seamless as possible by designing simple detail and coordinating consultants early to support an ideal timeline for the build.

We were very happy to let Elisa and Simon know that their 115m² home rated 8.8 stars on its’ preliminary NatHERS performance rating. Thanks to Ben .au for the deep level of insight you have provided our clients about the performance of their future home!

Recently we’ve begun preparing a site in central Albury for internal alterations and a rear extension. The design intends to respect the character of the existing house, while taking inspiration from our clients’ love of mid-century modern homes. We’ll keep you up to date as construction progresses!

We are looking for a Leading Hand Carpenter to join our boutique architecture and building studio. We do work across Albury and northeast Victoria, including Rutherglen and Beechworth.

Key responsibilities will include overseeing daily site operations, executing hands-on construction tasks to a high standard and collaborating across the team to craft innovative design solutions. The ideal candidate will have a dedication to their craft, meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. Experience in architectural residential construction will be highly regarded, but not essential.

Alma House is coming along and we’re enjoying watching the landscaping set in around it. The native palette is beginning to pop against a canvas of charred cladding by ! Alma House proudly rates at 8.8 stars, which is performance which takes careful planning. Here’s some images which were part of the process.

We’ve been developing a concept for a small house in Tawonga, on Dhudhuroa Country. The project brings together a 115sqm home and 60sqm of shed space to support our clients’ furniture making practice. This project has been developing with an owner-builder approach in mind, so we’ve been focused on creating clarity through simple construction logic, and connecting the family’s living and working spaces with the landscape that they will call home.

As the seasons turn we’re slowly losing all the extra daylight hours that Tim and Sarah have been using to make progress on their own home. Faraway House reimagines the farm house as a collection of connected pavilions. A renovation and extension to the existing cottage, it features primarily outdoor circulation to encourage daily connection to light, air and landscape.
