I'll give you one guess where we are today!

Specifically we went for a look around , which we visited many years ago but very valuable to go and check out again. Aside from being very well maintained, there are some lovely subtleties like actively avoiding axis and straight lines which give a really nice sense of an internal, experiential space. Voids under the waterfall to enhance the sound was another very clever touch we picked up on!

Before we left for the small smoke, we practiced a bit of Landscape Architecture for our bunny friends who were badly in need of a spruced up outside run. Needless to say they were stoked with the outcome!

We had a trip recently for a fairly mundane purpose, but it got us through a different part of the country and it really felt like we were experiencing something special. Something especially satisfying about being the only people around to boot.

I'd say get out there but maybe I want to be selfish on this one. 😁

Snuck in another Lightscape before it finished up last night. Some beautiful installations, and lots which were nodding to the natural world which was particularly welcome. Naturally, the tree was the favorite for me!

Escaped the cold a little while back & hopped over to the Gold Coast for a celebration - they certainly do mid winter there differently. Got introduced to Burleigh Head National Park by some friends and while its pretty difficult not to look outwards it's a pretty special place in itself!

First of (hopefully) many explorations of our new home, we wandered into the back end of Castlemaine Diggings Heritage Park for a dog walk. An historic gold mining area (and beautiful Djaara, Box-Ironbark country), we even managed to find a spooky old mine which Beetle was wanting to explore.

Oh and in case you haven't noticed, the wattles are out! Spring incoming!

I found myself wandering around Flagstaff Gardens on a misty morning some time ago, and I had the realisation that despite years of living in Melbourne, I have never ended up there before. It's a great place, particularly in Autumn.

Strangely, I found myself looking out more that in though, the greenery creating a framing and softening of the (at times quite harsh) surrounding architecture. Great to see recognising the need for habitat as well though, with a dead tree retained for hollows rather than being removed. An excellent example of why we need to protect and invest in our green spaces!

Apologies for the radio silence over the last little while. We have been taking some time away from socials to relocate, set ourselves up and subsequently catch up on workloads!

We will be continuing to service all of Victoria but will be placing a particular focus and the broader goldfields region.

Look forward to sharing some of our landscape adventures around our new home and of course this big wide world of ours!

As you may have noticed, Botanic Gardens are a happy place for me. They always seem to end up on my to do list when traveling overseas or making my way around this big ol country. Adelaide Botanic Garden has always been (and continues to be) one of my favorites just because it feels like it strikes the right balance between planting and built form, art and design, old and new, detail and expanse, native and exotic. I like spaces that I can lose myself in, turn a corner and discover something and you get that in spades. Be sure to go lose yourself sometime.
