Whilst I’m currently too useless to do anything practical the rest of the team are still out there doing a great job.
Alan’s old electric HWS died in the garage, he thought it’d be a FANTASTIC IDEA to move it out of the way, and increase its efficiency by swapping it out with an iStore - Air to Energy heat pump HWS.

I’m still not doing anything due to a mangled up hand, but we can always sort out your hot water needs.

Unfortunately I did a silly thing with my hand.
How did I do it you ask? Something epic at work? No, extending the ramp on a paw patrol monster rescue base station of course!

I’ve been informed that I’ll be unable to perform any of my normal duties for roughly 10 weeks, but we are still more than capable of sorting out all of your hot water needs.
If you were booked in I’m sorry, I will be in contact to organise alternative arrangements this week.

Out of action again - hopefully it’s a quick weekend fix.

Hot water repairs are still ongoing from the other truck, but unfortunately any solar power repairs will have to wait till next week.

“These hot water sytems just don’t last the test of time like my old one”

I hear this all too often from people with older heat pumps and solar units where the tank has rusted out after 10 years. When I ask “how often did you have it serviced?” you can hear the crickets chirping…

Josh ripped this anode out of a 5 year old Istore - as you can see it’s doing a wonderful job of sacrificing itself to keep the tank from succumbing to corrosion. It was swapped out along with a new set of pressure relief valves.

After 15 years of problem free operation (except for an inverter swap at year 7), Liz started getting a multitude of earth fault warnings on her Fronius Galvo - something I didn't even know was possible...

Liz was a bit picky with her street appeal - she didn't want any of those newer blue looking panels. She wanted something similar to the 90W Qcells thin film modules so they wouldn't stick out too much, so an all-black 6x440W Jinko array fit the bill!

Once the old array was moved off the roof I found a junction box surrounded by shredded newspaper in the ceiling - being the top bloke that I am I decided it probably wasn't the best idea to leave it in there.

As I drove off into the sunset, the mighty Galvo reported a stunning 2200W on a mildly cloudy day - Liz was very happy that some parts of the system could be reused instead of having to replace the whole shebang.

Lisa’s old Solahart solar hot water system gave up the ghost last week, so it was time to swap the old dog out with a new one.

Whilst installing the new fancy German Tech replacement, Peter found that the pipes running up to the roof had been installed back to front for the past 15 years - she wondered why they always had to leave the booster on…

These days the panels work, the booster is off and the showers are hot!

One thing I absolutely hate about older Envirosun solar hot water heaters is the flexi pipes joining the tank to the collectors!

Ted's roof ended up rusting through after yet another one of these pipes wore through and started leaking. We took the system off the roof, he had the sheets replaced, and we reinstalled the existing system back onto the roof, replacing the flexi pipes with solid 20mm copper AND swapping out the rusted steel mounting rails with some alloy goodness.

Not even 15 minutes after house settlement, Keely and Hunter had us around disconnecting the existing gas hot water system ready for a 315L Reclaim Energy heat pump hot water heater.
