I provide a catch and release service for snakes and other reptiles, and can also provide property inspections to assist you and/or your business minimise the likelihood of unwelcome guests. Growing up my father had a traveling reptile show and he was involved in reptile handling and catch & release services. We usually accommodated around 300 snakes and other reptiles at our house at any given ti

mes so reptile handling became second nature. In primary school (much to the dismay of my mother) I used to come home, check the answering machine for customers, and take myself off to catch brown snakes and Red Bellied Black snakes without an adult’s knowledge or supervision, returning most days with a collection of venomous snakes. My father was one of the 3 original founders of WIRES, with the idea commencing in my childhood loungeroom around the coffee table. I commenced working for WIRES at age 15, working for 17 years as a hands-on reptile handling instructor. During this time I trained Police, Fire Brigade, National Parks & Wildlife Service, State Emergency Services, HAZMAT and Ambulance officers in catch & release as well as foster caring, housing and rehabilitation. I have a wealth of knowledge and experience and look forward to assisting you with all your catch & release or property inspection needs.

11pm call out for a coastal carpet python wedged up in the windscreen wiper arms in a truck. The driver pulled onto the twin service station southbound at Warnervale when the wipers stopped working. The truck has been parked in Qld for 4 months with a blown head and it was on its way back to Adelaide to start working again.

The snake sustained a couple of 1inch slices in the skin which will heal nicely with some heat, antibiotics and feeding up. Not sure how long it was in there but it is dehydrated and malnourished with me being able to feel the spine.

The python will be delivered to Wildlife Arc for the care required and NPWS will make a decision on what will happen to the snake now, being from out of state it may possibly go into a private collection as per National Parks direction.
