🌧️ Private Road Restoration After Heavy Rain

After weeks of heavy rain, this private road was badly washed out, heavily rutted and difficult to use.

We restored the road by grading the surface, hammering out exposed rock and clearing the drainage channels to help future rainfall flow away safely instead of damaging the road.

We then finished the job with a layer of rotormill, carefully graded and rolled to create a smooth, strong and well-compacted surface.

A great result—and smooth sailing for this road from here on!

Organic fertiliser and pasture improvement. Chicken manure is the optimal choice for pasture improvement.
Operation 1: A Kubota tractor and a Toscano speed disc were utilised to plough the paddock which was then seeded with oats and rye, harrowed, and fertilised with fresh chicken manure via the Sammut manure spreader.
Operation 2: The same equipment was used to plough 20 acres, seed with oats, and harrow. Operation 3: A patch of oat and rye was prepared for harvesting using a 4x4 round baler, resulting in an abundance of winter feed.

Professionally engineered sandstone log walls incorporating ag lines and gravel. The initial retaining wall was poorly sited in relation to the buildings, resulting in ongoing drainage issues. The original wall was removed, and a wider area surrounding the buildings was excavated to allow for the construction of a new sandstone log wall using b-grade blocks, ag lines, and gravel. The outcome is a high-quality, visually appealing retaining wall that resolves drainage issues, increases amenity, usability, and significantly improves the property's value.

As an extension to the newly installed stock boundary fencing, we constructed an extra large double gate entrance to facilitate the easy entry and exit of large trucks and machinery. The road was subsequently widened, and a rotormill base was laid and rolled to establish a firm foundation for the driveway.

We were glad to get the new boundary stock fencing in place before the rain. Using Ironbark fence posts and strainers and offset electric, this fence will keep the cows in.
