🌳 Whitehorse SLO9 has ended. What does this mean for your property?

Since 16 June 2026, Significant Landscape Overlay Schedule 9 (SLO9) no longer applies in Whitehorse. However, other overlays, statewide canopy tree controls and existing planning permit conditions may still affect your land.

Before removing trees or planning a renovation, subdivision or new development, take these four steps:

✅ Check the planning controls that apply to your address.
✅ Review existing permit conditions and approved landscape plans.
✅ Confirm whether a permit is required before removing, lopping or undertaking major pruning.
✅ Get advice early to understand tree-retention and siting requirements before design, demolition or construction.

Understanding your site early can help reduce redesign, delays and unnecessary costs.
