We recently revisited a floor plan that we really like, and thought it might be interesting to share.

This single-storey home features 5 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and approximately 250 sqm of living space.

When working on this layout, our main focus was simple:
How can the house work better for everyday family life?

The centre of the home is the kitchen, dining, and family space. We intentionally made this the heart of the house, a place where most daily activities happen together.

The kitchen includes an island bench and a walk-in pantry, which helps keep the main space clean while still providing plenty of storage.

The living area is connected to the family space but slightly separated. This allows different activities to happen at the same time: watching TV, chatting, and kids playing, without everyone being in the exact same space.

For the bedroom layout, we created a clearer private zone.

The master suite sits on one side of the house, with its own ensuite and walk-in robe, giving it a quieter, more private feel.

The other four bedrooms sit on the opposite side.
One of them, Bedroom 4 near the entry, can easily serve as a guest room or home office, which many families need today.

Another element we like in this layout is the mudroom connection from the garage.

Garage → Mudroom → Pantry → Kitchen

This small sequence actually makes everyday life much easier, groceries go straight into the pantry, and shoes or bags stay out of the main living area.

Sometimes we feel that a good floor plan matters more than beautiful renderings, because it directly shapes how people live in the space every day.
